Unsafe and poor quality
October 11, 2024I often felt unsafe at CityView. There were roach infestations, water damage that wasn't addressed for weeks, and plumbing issues from the beginning. My apartment flooded from another unit and I was uncomfortable/unable to sleep there for several days. Due to this flood, I came home one day to several industrial size fans blowing and the floors sticky, with no text/email/phone call saying there were maintenance workers in my home. I was also denied my security deposit back when I was told ...incomplete information about the move-out process.Property Manager Responded

not the best place
February 2, 2023Is definitely not the safest place to live in.. lots of people carry guns, and let’s not talk about the shooting in the lobby and they act like nothing happened. AC always down on summer 80° plus temperatures, is always lies and lies, people breaking on people units, security cameras don’t work. Just not the best place for the prices…. Guns
August 26, 2022I beleive it's important for prospective tenants to know that I have seen more than a few people on the elevators on this property casually carrying firearms, as in loosely, in baggy pants. Kind of unnerving. There has also been gunshots fired in the lobby in recent years. The bullet holes still exist. I have spoken to management here and they say there's nothing they can do, even though it's private property and they could issue a no firearms policy in their lease.Property Manager Responded

Bed bugs
November 21, 2020This place looks nice in photos, but in reality there are bed bug infestations on multiple floors. They won’t disclose that to you and might even offer you a rent special, ask them if it comes with bed bugs. The fixtures are old. Windows and sliding door have seals that are crumbling, cold air gets through all the cracks and makes noise. You can’t control your own heat/ac because the old boilers they use in every unit won’t allow it. Overall the building is in bad shape and they’ve done a lot ...of cosmetic changes. There’s rust and mold everywhere, just look at the tiles on the ceiling when you walk though. The hallways look like an old scummy hotel, the elevators are in poor condition, some of the buttons have fallen off and sometimes the elevator won’t stop in your floor. There’s no visitor parking. Bed Bug Hotel
March 9, 2020I lived here for several years and after a new owner took over - Zinger from Chicago - they did unnecessary renovations while residents were inhabiting the property which is illegal. Tenants who'd lived there forever all moved out because they hiked-up the rents on top of being forced to live through sloppy and cheap "up-dates" by CRG construction. Quality of life dropped swiftly. Druggie neighbors and the place was riddled with bed bug on every floor with the cost of exterminators falling on any ...resident who wanted treatment. June 14, 2019I’ve lived here for almost 3 years and have had a pretty good experience. That being said, management was recently changed and the elevators have been down consistently for a month. I understand that may sound like a minuscule complaint, but when you live on the 13th floor (of 20) it isn’t fun walking up and down w/ groceries, etc. nevertheless, if stairs aren’t an option for you due to a wheelchair, walker etc, getting to your apt would be virtually impossible. I think a month without addressing ...this issue properly is ridiculous and I have neighbors who have no choice but to move out due to the inaccessibility. Renovations are being done to the building- and they look cool, but to pay top dollar for lackadaisical management isn’t worth it in the end.
