Poor management driving me out

I am so heartbroken because I absolutely love the location but the management has made it not worth staying. New management came in and has been completely incompetent. I've lived in a lot of apartments, my bar for management is so low it's on the ground and yet they have tunneled underneath it. They raised the price of parking from $95 a month to $150 a month and they can apparently just keep raising the price whenever they want and we have absolutely no say or choice. On top of paying so much ...
more we no longer have 24 hour service so if your garage reader doesn't work after hours (happened to several people I know!) you're locked out and screwed. The have so many hidden fees like mandatory trash valet that is absurdly expensive when I would rather just bring my trash to the chute, mandatory package delivery service instead of just, you know, a mailroom, and amenity fees even though the pool is always out of order and the hot tub is permanently closed. It took them months to fix issues with my lease and get me access to their payment portal which was absolutely absurd. Again, I have a lot of patience and experience with crappy management but for what we pay in rent it's crazy that everything is so poorly run. I wish I could stay in the area but I'm just so done overpaying so much to live in filthy conditions with the worst management I've ever experienced. The parking price increases have been the last straw for me. Trust me, the place isn't worth it.

New Property Management- Poor Experience, Lack of Response to Issues

First, I really like the location of the apparent. However, there are some glaring issues that new property management has created, doesn’t address and does not taking constructive feedback well despite best efforts. First, they constantly run out of gym wipes for days at a time, on a monthly basis. They now said they are not responsible for it being gone between orders. Gross. Also, second big one is that they had perfectly function hot tub until they came in and decided instead of repair it ...
to put a tarp on it and make it unusable for months. Property manager said it’s the owners and they have decided to fill it concrete instead of investing to repair it. Feels like a bait and switch. I don’t know why they just don’t repair so they can rent more units and better experience rather than take the cheep way out. But, this seems to be a theme. These are just a couple of the issues. I’m willing to change my mind once they start addressing issues. Also, many issues in unit that were reported on original form that were not addressed. I will say the maintenance manager is awesome and should be given a raise, but he seems to be the only one who cares. Otherwise, hands are tide. Please consider this when looking around of what you may be getting into.

Staff at Commons Park West are very friendly, helpful, and responsive, both in the leasing office and on the maintenance staff. We get prompt notifications of work that is being done in the building, and maintenance follows through with even the most non-routine issues.

Commons park west is the best place I’ve lived. Nothing is ever perfect but this comes close. Location, amazing, like insanely beautiful, cost, slightly lower than a lot of places and again a way cooler location. I can walk to get all kinds of food, my apartment has a couple design flaws like doors that should open the other way or mirrors hung too high because that’s where the outlets are but I’m quite sure no apart figured it all out without costing an arm and a leg. The pool is beautiful, and ...
the workout room is really great. So many conveniences and my back yard is the Platte river and commons and confluence park. Gorgeous!

Commons park west is the perfect way to live downtown or highlands or sunnyside. All of these places are so expensive and Platte st is safe and I love watching people with their dogs and all the people who include outdoor activity on a daily basis. It’s a wonderful environment especially motivating to be healthier, to get some puppy kisses (only if mom/dad says it’s ok). The only frustrating aspect is the timing of redoing the outdoor areas. Losing the pool for two weeks in July is sad but I know ...
the weather has been wet and may not have been conducive to sealers and grinding. Overall location is perfect, my apartment is cozy, and neighbors are totally great I do wish there was more sound insulation between the walls and ceilings. But that’s apartment life.

List of move in issues: - car was towed due to never being given a decal or notified of the need of a decal despite having active permit for the garage - Wifi was out for 5 days during move in (due to broken cable in the wall) - apartment should verify rooms are ready for move in prior to renting... - AC went out for 4 days in peak summer temps - witnessed a bike theft in parking garage - do not feel safe with garage set up after this ...
(there's also no fob requirement for garage to apartments so anybody could get access to apartments) - Pool is closed for 2 weeks even though I was told all construction would be completed by my move in (this was a deciding factor when moving in and it's just been taken away during peak summer) - Being forced to park in separate garage if space is available due to construction (inconvenient for returning to apartment and possibility of garage exceeding capacity)

Location not worth it!

Because Commons Park West is owned by Greystar, the biggest rental agency in the country, Commons Park West really has no incentive to care about its residents. The building itself is fairly old and is constantly having plumbing and flooding problems. On top of this, their maintenance takes FOREVER. For my first example three months ago my bathroom ceiling started dripping shower water from the unit above me and I had to go to the front office 3 times a week to get maintenance to come fix it. ...
When maintenance would show up they would say they couldn't fix it that day or that they could only partially fix it. As of today I still have a big hole in my ceiling with exposed dry wall from an incomplete maintenance job. When I tried to ask if I could be compensated for having to use my roommates bathroom when I was paying to have my own they offered my roommate and I another unit to move into (even though we only have 2 more months in our lease) so legally they were off the hook but really didn't have to do anything about it. For my next example, my friend who lived on the first floor had her window smashed by someone and commons park west took 2 months to repair it and she had a wood board as her window that entire time. Her unit also flooded and she had to switch units and was not compensated for any of the damages or inconvenience. Along with having really slow maintenance, Commons Park is also a fetch facility meaning an outside company handles all of their packages. The way it works is you send all your packages to a factory and they deliver it to you. Ever since COVID fetch has been really understaffed and constantly loose packages and deliver the incorrect packages to my door. It was so bad fetch even lost my brand new skis and blamed it on UPS even though UPS had a photo that they were signed for by the fetch facility. There are so many other inconveniences that happen in this building like fire alarms going off in the middle of the night, water randomly being shut off for an entire day without any warning before, really loud construction outside or on your unit without any warning, appliances always breaking, mold in your unit. The parking spots are also really small and my roommate had her scratched really badly by someone in the parking lot and building wouldn’t help her all with trying to figure out who did it or anything. Commons Park West will also never compensate you for any inconvenience.

Great Location. Constant fire alarms

The location is amazing and renovated apartments are nice!! However you have to deal with fire alarms (painfully loud ones, I’ve seriously have never heard a louder one in my life) going off more often than normal. There was a period of time this winter where it was normal for them to go off 1-3 times a night due to a water leak faulting the alarm (also yikes). Save yourself the large amount of money that they charge and the sleep you’ll lack from living here..

It’s so close to so many things great shops and food. Commons park is convenient to all highways for in town and to the mountains on days off. The parks around are amazing and the paths are endless. So many dogs to keep a smile on your face

Upper management; or lack thereof, seems to be more concerned about maintaining the image of a once sought-after establishment rather than the actual needs of the residents themselves. The leasing agents are friendly and polite but any issue seems to have to be run up the ladder for approval. There have been multiple issues with the building; fire alarms going off throughout the night, theft of packages, vandalism and theft of vehicles in a "secured" garage, with no security cameras, which is ...
also charged an extra 100 dollars a month to your already overpriced rent for an out of date building with a fresh coat paint. Management has no urgency in remedying these issues once your lease is signed. They are unaccommodating and inflexible when it comes to residents needing assistance with issues. Save yourself time and energy and look for a residence elsewhere in the area.
