We've lived in our apartment home for 5 months now, and it's felt like home since the day that we moved in. The grounds are beautiful. They're full of mature trees, blooming bushes, and local floral. Birds are plentiful and serenade you with their song in the morning. Staff is friendly and professional, with maintenance responding quickly to your needs. I have lived at Cortland since October and have had multiple problems since before even moving in. I am a single female living alone. A week ago, I had an emergency maintenance issue and one of their staff members responded around 9:00 p.m. The maintenance technician was drunk upon arrival. His eyes were blood shot red and he was slurring his words. As a woman who lives alone, I was scared and didn’t know what to do. He did not seem like he wanted to leave, and I was genuinely terrified that ...
something bad was going to happen. He was aggressive towards me, kept asking me if I thought he was stupid, and kept telling me not to report him to the front office. I reported the entire incident to the front desk the next day in tears. They stated they take these things “seriously”. As of yesterday, I saw this maintenance person still working here. The front desk has yet to follow up with me on my complaint, have not checked on me, and genuinely do not care. Please, do not move here. Go somewhere else where they care about you and where you will be safe.
