Move in disaster !! (Roaches in fridge )

I moved into this apartment believing I was starting a new chapter for my family. I packed up my entire life, spent my hard earned money, and moved with my two babies — an 11-month-old and a 2-year-old expecting a safe and clean place to call home. Instead, I walked into conditions that are completely unacceptable. From the moment I moved in, I discovered roaches throughout the apartment — even during the daytime — including baby roaches. I found roaches in the refrigerator, an old water bottle ...

left behind by previous tenants, and glass that was never cleaned up. The apartment was not properly prepared for a new resident. The walls still had holes that were never repaired, the paint was unfinished, the carpet was stained, and one room was missing carpet completely. These are things that should have been handled before handing over keys to a new family. After bringing these concerns forward, I was offered the option to turn in my keys and wait two weeks for another unit. But what happens to my family during those two weeks? I already moved everything I own. I have two small children and nowhere to simply go on short notice. I was then given 42 hours to leave, leaving me feeling like I’m being forced to choose between staying in unsafe conditions or uprooting my children again with no real solution provided. This is not what anyone expects after paying their deposit, signing a lease, and trusting a property to provide a clean and livable home. Families deserve better. New residents deserve better. No one should have to spend their hard-earned money just to move into conditions like this.

Highly recommend Cortland North Beach! I toured the model and amenities today and was totally blown away. Everything is so nice and the community is so charming. The woman in the office was so friendly and was happy to show me around and answer my questions.

I do not recommend anyone to come here! Me and my husband moved here from another state last year in December. Upon moving in we notice alot of things was wrong. Leaking faucet, door knob on wrong, lock wasn't working for the guess bathroom, the mantle needed painting, and it was nasty behind the dishwasher and stove! The apartment was not move in ready AT ALL but we made it work. I was going to clean up anyway because I knew not to trust that it would be clean. We told them about the issues and ...

after 2-3 months of begging, they finally fixed all but one problem and that was the faucet. It's been 5 months and they still haven't replaced the faucet! They are ridiculous and trifling! We had mold under our kitchen sink. It took 5 days for maintenance to come out. All he did was spray it with some treatment and painted over it the next few days. I was under the impression he was suppose to cut out the damage board and replace it. Nope, he painted over it! PLEAS DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! SAVE YOUR MONEY PLEASE!

Overall, the community at North Beach is clean and very nice. The amenities are clean and attractive. The management is horrible. I don't know if they are short staffed or what, but I have seen other residents unhappy with management as well. If they could the fix the non responsive management, this would be a 5 star community.
