*First lie: They gave me a lease for a 12 month lease, when I specifically told them (Colby) I wanted a 6 month lease. I signed the lease under the understanding that it was a 6 month lease. The leasing agent (Colby) quickly flipped through the lease telling me where to sign and did NOT go over the lease date. Then, when I asked for a copy of the lease, they didn't give it to me until 2 months after I had moved in, and that's when I saw the error. They said that they couldn't verify (by email)
...that I wanted a 6 month lease. Of course they wouldn't have an email because I talked to Colby over the phone and then in the office.
*Second lie: Since they would not change my lease date because of their mistake (surprise! surprise! Colby couldn't remember if I had wanted a 6 month lease! How convenient!), I was forced to terminate my lease early. I was told that I would not have to pay the termination fee (equal to 1 month's rent), if someone moved in after I moved out. They charged me anyway and said that their earlier explanation was incorrect.
*Do not move here. They will NOT make corrections to THEIR mistakes and you will end up paying for it. I would SPECIFICALLY ask them a question to make sure that I would know what to expect. They would tell me one thing and then weeks later, either say that they couldn't remember or that they didn't say it.
