April 28, 2019My wife and I lived at the Driftwood Apartments for a year and loved it. Thanks to Barbara, Jessica, Kim, Ruben and Gary. The Driftwood staff showed us a lot of love from the moment we arrived to the time we moved from the island. If we ever decide to move back, we will move back to the Driftwood! -Apartment was very quiet, clean and great repair. Maintenance was responsive (even on the weekends.) -Management was very friendly and took excellent care of us. -The grounds were groomed and ...maintained -Neighbors were friendly -Great price for a great apartment -Convenient location Thank you for everything! AMAZING
January 18, 2019This complex is absolutely amazing! I have lived in a 2 bed/2 bath and a single 1 bed/1 bath. I loved them both. I was a student at UTMB and stayed for 16 months. The rooms are nicely updated and the complex is clean. The parking lot has many drains so it never floods (not even during Hurricane Harvey!). The staff is incredible (Barbara, Jessica, Kim, Gary, etc). I can be shy at times, but everyone there is so friendly and treats every client like family. They hold special events like luncheons ...and have dog treats in the leasing office. At Christmas time they had a gift-wrapping station! Everything you needed for gift wrapping they had it for you to use whenever you needed, for free! These apartments are very affordable, especially for being SO close to the beach (basically across the street). Plus, it's also right across the street from Wal Mart, which is also very convenient. It is newly gated, which made me feel safer as well. I couldn't recommend this apartment more, definitely would live there again if I moved to Galveston again.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Great location, appealing space, pleasant staff
November 22, 2018I'm a student who has been living at Driftwood for the past two years. I really like the location - 15 to 20 mins to East End, 10 to 15 minutes to the Causeway/I-45, less than a couple minutes to quieter West End, and pretty much right at the beach. No complaints about the apt space, as well. One of the few places on the island in this price range that offers apts with washer/dryer connections - I really like that. Despite being busy, the office staff are friendly and make the effort of getting ...to know their tenants. Maintenance and housekeeping respond within reasonable timing, do a great job keeping things in order, and follow up when needed. Nastiest hole ever
February 20, 2018Driftwood Apartments are disgusting. Save your money and find a better place. The place is under new management with updates being made etc. but nothing would make me ever sign another lease. My first apartment i lived in as a child, as well as an adult on my own
September 22, 2017This was the first apt my mom got approved for on her own after the divorce with me & my twin brother around 1999. I will never forget those days. This place has always been a great place to live. NO FLOODING AT ALL WHATSOEVER DURING HURRICANE HARVEY! BLESSED. All of the management are very helpful and nice, ESPECIALLY Kelley! She's so professional and passionate about her job, and it shows thru her always positive attitude and how easy it is for her to explain all the 13842 questions I had since ...this was my first lease I've ever signed. They are always quick to solve any issues that arise and keep up with follow-up calls and messages to let you know what is going on, which is very nice when you're not home often. All of the maintenance guys are awesome and very friendly all the time. I have lived in many different places in my life and there is rude people/issues everywhere/anywhere you go, true, that is life! But NOT HERE. I am very happy I made the choice to make Driftwood Apts as my first apt. I would recommend these apts first on the island, definitely! Fine to live in, a nightmare to move away from
August 23, 2017Living at Driftwood was fine for being a poor college student. Walls are thin, neighbors are loud. Office staff was very rude and never followed up on complaints or maintenance issues (although the maintenance guys were really awesome when you did see them). Had to give them my 60 day move-out document three times because they kept losing it. Roaches were a huge issue that I was constantly fighting and although I paid every month for pest control, I never once saw a pest control worker. They ...would randomly turn off the water or electricity without notice. My big issue is that I moved out 8 months ago and never heard anything from them and just got a call from a debt collections agency saying I owe them $980 in damages and they're attacking my credit.
