Just live somewhere else.
November 12, 2022I started renting here since it was the cheapest place that wasn't infested by roaches where I could get a two bedroom. Since then they have increased the price over 12% and added a 50 dollar per month water fee. This puts EL in the price range of a lot of less rundown apartments in Kent. Pros - 1. Nearly no bugs. if you leave dirty dishes out fruit flies get in and there is an odd bug here and there but no roaches or anything like that. 2. They do not even remotely care if you break the ...addendum as long as nobody reports you. Cons - 1. Constant plumbing issues, especially on the first floor and even more so in the 7 apartments. I don't know the exact plumbing situation but there is frequently clogs in every drain, constant maintenance for half the complex, and most importantly there is brown water with debris that looks suspiciously like sewage if you use the tub faucet after a long time of not. This alone removed 2.5 stars for me. 2. Poorly managed. They send out an email pretty much weekly telling people what broke this week and a lot of the emails (if you actually read them) come across as spiteful that the tenants are causing problems by living in this musty outdated apartment. Not a huge deal in practice, just gives the place a weirdly dystopian energy. 3. The apartments are extremely inconsistent. Some smell like cigarettes, others have plumbing issues, mine has a saloon door separating the toilet from the sink in the bathroom and nails sticking out of the carpet near the doors due to a shoddy carpet installation. Its a gamble when you get an apartment here and its not in your favor. Additionally from what I have seen the renovated (and price increased) apartments were renovated using the cheapest possible materials and it shows when a 160lb person bends the vinyl flooring just by walking on it. nitpicking 4. There are no closet doors and no way to attach them. The best you're going to do is a curtain. It doesn't sound bad at first but this makes it feel like you have no storage if you attach a curtain and if you don't then it feels like there is stuff laying out everywhere. The curtain can only be installed at about 1/3rd the depth of the closet so you don't really get that space if you attach one. 5. There is no living room light fixture. living on the first floor and don't want people to see in? well you're going to have a dark apartment unless you collect lamps.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
You Can Do Better For Less Money
November 23, 2020Pros: - The apartment complex is close to the business school. Cons: - Property is old and beat up. Looks like a jail on the outside. - Tons of leaks, mold, holes, and other problems with unit. - Ongoing maintenance. We've had water shut off 5 times in the past 4 months (11/23, 11/18, 8/18, 8/6, and 7/28). They typically say 2 hours. Then email 3 hours later and say work is ongoing. You can expect water back on in 6 hours. - Other maintenance issues around complex such as choosing to reseal ...the parking lot during the school year, water leaking from the shower upstairs, power shut offs, etc. - Ridiculous stipulations added into the housing contract. For example, you can be fined $25 for opening a window in the winter. This apartment complex has had ownership exchanges over the 50+ years that its been built. My understanding when talking to past alumni is that its gotten worse with each exchange. We are unhappy with living here and looking forward to moving out. Any other majors besides business majors? Try somewhere else. Business major? Seriously consider how much time you'll spend at the apartment. We knew of issues going in, but assumed we'd spend less time at the apartment. Then covid hit. Best of luck!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
BEST APARTMENT EVER!!
July 25, 2020My sister and I lived in Eagles Landing for 2 years during college. We absolutely loved this place!! Our apartment was the perfect size and very updated on the inside. We did live in the most recent style of apartments. We were able to make the space very cozy and it really became home for us. The large window provides ton of natural light which we loved. We walked to campus for all of our classes since Eagles Landing is so close. Rent is very reasonable and the people at Eagles Landing are ...wonderful! We both cried while moving out and will miss this place tons!!!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Eagle's Landing
September 21, 2015I have to say, I remain impressed with the quality of Eagle's Landing. It's the most in-demand complex in town due to its low cost, proximity to campus and quality of units. Pros: Close to campus, most units are renovated. Pretty decent quality - nothing seemed suspect when we moved in. Friendly office staff! Cons: Maintenance seems to hate their jobs. We called them 3 times about a leaky ceiling and they didn't fix it until the health inspector commanded them to. Also, our air vents don't ...distribute heat/cold throughout the apartment evenly, making one room and ice box, while leaving the other a fiery inferno. Overall: For college housing, it's hard to beat.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Eagles Landing
August 31, 2015I just moved into Eagle's Landing, and so far it has been fantastic. For being right off of the Kent campus the rent is reasonable and the apartment is nice. The apartment is updated with tile and a dishwasher and for a monthly fee and one time deposit cats are allowed. In addition to a clean space, reasonable rent, and cats allowed, the staff are all very friendly. I'm happy with the choice to live here.Review from Apartments.com
