I lived in the Checker building at EP for a year. The unit was amazing and we didn’t have any major maintenance issues. Janet (management) was super kind and helpful when we needed her.
However, management/staff entered our unit twice without consent, which made us feel very uncomfortable in our home. The second occurrence, there was a muddy/dirty footprint left in our bedroom and they never admitted to entering the space. Once is perhaps a forgivable mistake, but twice…no.
They also retained ...
$250 of the security deposit for some small holes left from pictures/mirrors. It’s not worth the time to fight it, so instead they get this candid review. I see this as a pretty crappy way of recouping vacancy costs.
The next tenant to move into our old unit will be the fourth in four years. Apparently, we were not the only ones with issues.
They have a great space in a great neighborhood, but they need to get it together from a management perspective.
