Terrible Managemnt

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Emblem at Christiana and would not recommend this community based on my experience.
Due to an unexpected family emergency, my stepfather passed away and I needed to relocate to help my disabled mother. I contacted management hoping they would work with me given the circumstances, but I felt there was very little compassion or willingness to find a reasonable solution. understand that leases are contracts and that there can be financial obligations for early termination, but I was extremely disappointed that management was unwilling to work with me during such a difficult and unexpected situation.
Unfortunately, my concerns went beyond the lease termination. During my time living here, I also experienced ongoing issues with the property and amenities:
• There was frequently a strong smell of dog waste around the pool area, which made the area unpleasant to use.
• Trash cans were not consistently emptied and common areas often appeared poorly maintained.
• Residents were charged for pool tags, yet I rarely saw the tags being checked. I also observed people using the pool who did not appear to be residents.
• The pool did not appear to be adequately monitored, including when children were using it, which was concerning from a safety perspective.
• The property overall was not maintained to the standard I would expect for the amount residents are paying.
• The stairwells and other common areas were often poorly maintained and did not give the impression that they were being regularly cared for.
Overall, my experience left me very disappointed—not only with the condition and management of the property, but especially with how my situation was handled when I needed to move because of an unexpected family tragedy.
I strongly recommend that prospective residents carefully review the lease, particularly the early termination provisions and associated fees, and take a close look at the condition and management of the common areas before signing.
