A bit disappointed

I moved in back in June super excited to move into my first apartment but as the months went on I became more and more disappointed.
For the price we pay I don’t see this place being worth it in the long run. The advertised amenities are a lie; the gym is “closed”, the clubhouse being renovated, the basket ball court locked up, tennis court unkept/unusable. The only thing that is open is the pool and barely because some days it’s closed for no reason when it’s hot and sunny. Aside from this I ...
live on a side of the complex that doesn’t get much sunlight so my apartment is dark plus with all the tree coverage the “grass” (real more like dirt and sand with tuffs of grass mixed in) doesn’t have a chance to dry so the mosquitos are insane. Our first month alone we couldn’t step foot outside without coming home with 50 mosquito bites on our legs (not an exaggeration I counted) and 5 more entering the house every time the door opened. This is bad but I think the worst part is the fact that no one and I mean NO ONE picks up after their dog. It’s utterly disgusting and ridiculous that I can’t walk my dog in the grassy areas without stepping on dog turds. It’s incredibly disrespectful to everyone to not pick up after your dog or to leave trash lying around on the pathways or fields. Speaking of which the laundry rooms are filthy, no one cleans up after themselves in there either.
So overall this has not been the best experience for us and we will most likely be looking elsewhere after our lease is up especially after we heard rumors of a 90$ rent increase per year. No thanks not worth it. Only positive to mention is that Joni was the best during the application process, super helpful/ friendly, and that the maintenance staff are wonderful but that’s about it.

Horrible customer service. I moved into an apartment as a sublet and found the place to be under-maintained. I knew the previous tenants, so I know the apartment had not been upgraded in at least 4 years. And when they moved in, the apartment was not upgraded after the tenants before them moved out. Therefore, the carpet, walls, kitchen tile, kitchen counters, and bathroom have close to 10 years on them. The thermostat can only read two temperatures (high or low), tile is peeling, walls are ...
stained, carpet smells (and makes all my clothes smell), bathroom ceiling has mold, refrigerator leaks, and entrance/staircase carpet is permanently stained. The painfully eventual assessment of all of this by the maintenance manager (which took weeks of calling, voicemails, and redirects) was futile (if it ever even happened...?) - 'sorry, can't help you with these issues they are not our problem'. Won't work with you, won't agree on any terms, very reluctant to take any responsibility or make the customer feel comfortable. They will also raise rent to the same amount as someone who has a brand new, fully wiped and updated apartment in the same building. The only agreement so far was that I would have to 'move out for a few weeks and then move back in, but only at the lease renewal date'. That's absurd. Dumpsters overflow and dogs poop all over the lawns. Patios and siding is never power-washed or cleaned. The only thing this place has going for them is the property manager, Nick, who is friendly and willing to talk/work with you when there is a problem categorized by Fairfield as 'their problem'.
