February 10, 2026The building is well-maintained, and the apartments are very modern and spacious. They offer several wonderful conveniences like an in unit laundry, gym, pool and even a co-working space, which is a huge bonus when you work from home. It’s also a very pet friendly community, with well-lit spaces to walk your pup. Management has been responsive, friendly, and quick to handle any questions or maintenance requests. December 22, 2023The old building is fine. It’s greener if you water it. The management do not care about you. Look at the price on the apartment. December 27, 2022I lived in this apartment for a few months. Before I signed the lease contract, I was told that there was not going to be any construction near my unit. A couple of months later, they started construction right in from of my unit without any prior notification. Do not move into this apartment unless you want to live through dust, debris, noise and rats!Review from Apartments.com
Don't Bother
October 7, 2022Completely overpriced. The management does not care about the residents. I moved in right before the construction and they gave us a one-day warning before it began. Literally, an e-mail was sent the night before. Not for anyone who works from home
February 12, 2021My wife and I have lived here for the past 5 years. While the apartments are spacious for the money and the staff are friendly and competent (especially the front desk workers), the quality of life in this building has plummeted drastically in the past year under Spruce Street Commons management. Extensive, building-wide apartment renovations have meant continual construction noise during the day which is a huge annoyance for those who work from home due to the pandemic. I’ve also seen workers ...walking around without masks multiple times. Due to the construction, 8-hour water shut offs during the day have become an almost-weekly occurrence. We’re also being forced to move out of our current apartment in May because of the aforementioned renovations. While we’re still considering transferring to a new apartment in the building due to the hassle and stress of moving (especially during a pandemic), any prospective tenants should know what life has been like here for the past year, and will continue to be like for the foreseeable future due to the planned renovating.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Avoid this Place
October 31, 2020The only good thing I can say about this building is that my apartment was a huge. Other than that, everything else was a very bad experience: pest, poor management, very thin walls and lousy neighbors, washer/dryers constantly out of order, water cuts (because of renovations and because bad pipes), high temperatures in the apartment all year round ( the AC units provided during the summer are not enough to keep a good temperature in the apartment, cooking in the summer is a bad idea and you ...can’t control the heat), Unhygienic trash management... elevator were out of order for months and we had to use the freight elevator located in the trash room... flies, terrible smells and you had to walk your pets and carry your groceries through that awful room. September 17, 2020Beware of 5 star reviews. Management offers a chance to win rewards for 5 star reviews from residents. Positives include a nice lobby and high ceiling units that are quiet due to the concrete and plaster construction. Unfortunately all of the units are have been redone or are scheduled to be renovated within a year. These renovations look nice but some of them crowd the old floor plan by adding bedrooms. All renovated units are way overpriced and you still have to deal with a building that has ...overlooked basic facilities such as constant water heating issues, no heat or a/c in hallways, elevators that break for months at a time, and filthy stairwells/parking garage. Laundry is a nightmare and lower units deal with slow drains and plumbing issues due to old pipes. Despite these problems I’ve enjoyed my past three years here, the garden outside is really nice to have( unfortunately there are plans for new apartments to be built there) and most of the staff are very nice. The final straw for me was an increase in rent of 8 percent during the pandemic seemed like a insult to people who have always paid on time and are suffering economically from the shutdown. Violent crime and theft in the neighborhood is common and increasing. Once the noise and dust settles from the extensive construction in the building this could be a wonderful place to live. Negligent managment
February 20, 2020Current resident. Construction at 4 am and 9 at night. All day water shut-offs for the whole building at least 2-3x/month with minimal notice. Multiple floods in many apartments with residents showering in other apartments indefinitely. No 24 hour notice for apartment entry and absent/hostile/negligent management. Huge departure from standards with previous management companies since this building was sold last summer. Proceed with caution!Review from Apartments.com
Nice but not really convenient
April 20, 2017I'm a Ucity grad student rooming with some guys and we are looking to move, Garden Court Plaza and has some built on delis and cafes. It's near to a nice neighborhood, but the garden outside is run down. There are a bunch of apartment choices in the area, this one seems like one of the nicest.Review from Apartments.com
