    A Historical Gem! I appreciate the rich history and iconic charm you can only get from a place like the Gardener! I needed a place very quick and reasonable. Alysa is super nice.     I've lived here for about 9 months and the new manager Britney does an excellent job. The lot was plowed regularly during winter. Britney and the staff make every effort to keep the building secure and have made many changes to this end. The new maintenance personnel are expedient to address any issues I've called them with and it seems like I run into them regularly working in the building. The unit I have has been renovated with new appliances and cabinets but they left the claw bathtub which ...

    From the reviews I've read, sounds like the Gardner hasn't changed much since I lived there about 15 years ago. Basically an old hotel converted into an apartment building. Hallways were dark and on the musty/smelly side. You could smoke there at the time, so that could stink up the hallways. The apartments are really hotel rooms-some larger than average- and they put up petition or wall and called it a one bedroom. I'd say they are closer to studios in terms of size. I lived there because ...
    it was close to the hospital where I worked. It was okay for awhile but all in all a depressing place to live. And they charged you extra for parking. Management was nothing special as I recall. The only real plus is it's downtown and you can walk to to a lot of shops and eateries. Though, I'd still advise you to look elsewhere.

    My lease is almost up and I can’t wait to get out of here. I pay $75/mo for a parking space in an over crowded lot that’s so tight my car has been hit several times while parked here, not to mention they don’t plow it in winter. NUMEROUS times last winter I had to rely on the help of a passerby to push me out of the snow filled parking lot which was hard to maneuver thru drifts of snow because again it’s OVERCROWDED. The office IS NOT open when they post that it will be. And packages are all ...
    delivered to the office. I literally had to take time off work just to receive the packages I had mailed to me while I’ve lived here. The elevator is SLOW and on several occasions it was broken down leaving me to climb five flights of steps with groceries. The staff in the office is AS UNFRIENDLY as is possible. There is so much drug use in this apartment building ... and in winter there are homeless people who just sleep in the hallways. This whole building ONLY has ONE laundry room with only a total of 3 working washing machines and four dryers and it is SIX floors away from my apartment. The view out my window is right into the next apartment... and my window is right by my toilet... so can’t really keep any blinds open or let any sunshine in. There are TONS of apartment complexes nearby for the same or lesser price that provide garages, balcony’s, laundry facilities, and don’t have homeless people cluttering the hallways.

    Some residents are nice but most wont even acknowledge you, most of the management is very unfriendly and not helpful. The whole apartment smells of old cigarettes and rotting food. DO NOT LIVE HERE. I was also “fine printed” on my lease. Promised a buy out after 9 months only to be told they can revoke the buy out whenever they please. Awful just awful.

    Tiny, filthy apartments. There are Bed Bugs!!!!! DO NOT live here or you will get them. You can hear everything through the paper thin walls and the place just stinks!! I do not recommend. Trust me, you can find much nicer apartments for your money. This place is not worth it.

    If you don't smoke, stay away. All of your clothes and belongings will stink of smoke. The staff do nothing to prevent the smell of marijuana or cigarettes getting into every apartment through the central HVAC system. Steer clear. If you arent prevented from sleeping from the sirens of the fire department at 3 in the morning, youll be disturbed by the other tenants through the paper thin walls. Go elsewhere.

  • LOOKS ARE DECEIVING!!!!

    The staff members are rude and don't communicate with one another. The outside of this building appears upscale brick apt, located downtown. However, inside the hallway, reeks of cigarettes odor and wet dingy socks. The appliances are outdated since the opening of the hotel in 1908. Furthermore, the parking fee is between $50 to $75, not included in the rent.
