Lived at gate park for 8 years, until we moved in to our house, and it was a great place. Close to everything we needed and convienent when I went to the university. The living spaces were perfect sizes, the prices were great, and the staff was amazing and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

I lived at Gate Park Apartments for nearly 5 years and had a genuinely great experience. The apartments are in a great location, within walking distance of a park, mall, movie theater, and bike trail. Considering the location, size of apartment space, and complex amenities, Gate Park is a very affordable rental option.
Management and maintenance were always incredibly accommodating and thoughtful. For a few of my years of residence, I had a work schedule with very odd hours, and when they needed ...

I lived at Gate Park with my 2 children for 6 years and I really cannot say enough good things about the place. The only reason I moved is I purchased my own home. Gate Park is a no frills basic community. They have a small playground in the commons area with a picnic table and a BBQ grill. The grill came in real handy. There is a laundry room with 4 washers and 4 dryers. If you time your washing right you will never have to wait. They are always updating the buildings with new windows, ...
canopy awnings above the entry doors and painted hallways; it keeps the place looking nice and clean. The management takes care to know everyone who lives there by name and you are always greeted with a smile. Any maintenance issue I had was taken care of that day. Both my dishwasher and refrigerator went out in the same year and they were replaced with nice new units, both were old originals when I moved in. Every year you renew your lease you get to choose an upgrade, new ceiling fan, free carpet cleaning and microwave were some of the choices. Also every year they throw a few social gatherings in the club house complete with food, drinks and prizes. If you are a college student looking for a basic apartment or an adult looking for a quiet place to live, Gate Park is perfect.

Pros:
*Prices are very reasonable
*They're remodeling all the units (as of 2016) with new carpet, windows, and appliances
*Free garbage and water
*Not limited to a certain cable/internet company
*Very large living room areas (my sectional fits and I still have space for a table and chairs)
*Guest parking lots/areas available
*Management is quick to answer questions and maintenance is quick to solve problems
*Indoor mailboxes!
*Cat friendly
*Great, central location in Lincoln
Cons:
*Parking ...
spaces are very narrow and the lots are usually full after 4pm and weekends
*Some buildings smell like smoke/weed but individual units smell fine (tenant problem, not management problem)
*Very easy to get locked out of your apartment and it's $40 to let you back in
*No dogs allowed, even for visits
*No walk in closets
*Small water heater
*Sometimes you have to remind management about appointments you've made (not often and not a big deal)
*Fire station right across the street can get noisy with open windows, but the newly installed windows prevent sound disturbances
