Imagine living in a home you can’t even eat in because of termite droppings—and then getting charged a fee for not giving enough notice when you finally decide to move out. time. Even after treatment, the termites kept coming back, so the issue never really felt resolved while I lived there. The last time I requested pest control, I don’t recall anyone ever being sent. Because of the ongoing termite activity, I frequently had to worry about where in my own unit I could eat because I was concerned about termite droppings falling near my food. Having to deal with that in your own home is disgusting and extremely stressful. The recurring termite problem was also a major reason I decided to move out, which meant I couldn’t give the full notice they require. Ironically, I’m now being charged for that notice—essentially penalized for the very issue that forced me to leave. What made this even more frustrating was the contrast in how strictly management enforces policies on tenants. They’ve been very firm about enforcing the notice requirement, yet when I was repeatedly dealing with termites in the unit, I did not experience that same urgency in addressing the problem. In my experience, tenant deadlines were enforced with zero flexibility, while serious maintenance issues were not treated with the same urgency. Don’t be fooled by the apologetic responses to these reviews—they’re simply damage control meant to reassure future tenants that the company is “reflecting” and improving. In reality, once you’re locked into a lease, communication becomes scarce and concerns are often dismissed or gaslit.
