If you are considering Harmony On Main, my biggest piece of advice is: Document everything and get every single verbal promise in writing immediately. ?We were met with constant communication issues and several broken promises regarding unit price, availability, and move-in readiness. Our experience with the onsite property manager, was frankly unacceptable. After being shown a unit that reeked of stale smoke and was in total disrepair, we were told we would have to pay more for a different unit ...
because of their mistake. ?When we finally advocated for ourselves, he became incredibly unprofessional. He explicitly told us, 'I will not continue to help you if you go behind my back,' simply because we reached out to corporate to resolve issues they were not fixing. He did eventually process a full refund of all fees, though I believe it was only because a potential future resident walked into the office during our conversation. While the on site leasing agent was pleasant during our tour and the leasing assistant tried her best, the communication response time at this office is poor. ?Read your lease very closely. There was a disconnect between the base rent we were quoted during the tour and the price on the lease (which I unfortunately didn't catch before signing—lesson learned). Thankfully, the Regional Manager at Valiant Residential Corporate, was the saving grace. She agreed to price-match the new unit to our original lease and didn't make excuses for the local manager’s behavior. ?Once the local relationship was beyond repair, I reached back out to the corporate regional manager to ensure she knew how we were treated in person. While we weren't initially given a timeline for our refund, once she stepped in, it took less than three days to receive our check. ?Valiant Residential just took this property over a few months ago; while the corporate team does the right thing, the local management has a long way to go.

Terrible property management

I know that this property is old in Hendersonville. It’s older than I am. But it appears that probably sometime ago somebody was stealing money from this place because they’ve done no repairs. They keep taking your money and keep charging more and more for these really terrible apartments filled with brown recluse and they move you into apartments where they never even fixed any of the problems. If I could give zero stars, I would. 1070 Main St Apartments completely wasted our time, money, and trust through what felt like a classic bait-and-switch. We toured an apartment in person and absolutely loved it. At no point during the tour or application process were we told that the unit we viewed was not the unit we would be receiving. In fact, the leasing agent explicitly stated it was the apartment we would be getting and even wrote down the apartment number when we left. We were ...
approved, prepared everything to move in, and were told the apartment would be ready today at 10:00 AM. At 9:58 AM, two minutes before move-in, we received a call saying the apartment was suddenly not ready and asking if we could delay until Wednesday — after we had already reserved a U-Haul and arranged our entire move. Only after pushing back were we told we could move in at 2:00 PM. When we arrived, we were handed keys to a completely different apartment. It was on the second floor (despite us specifically requesting a ground-level unit), visibly dirty, and had paint chipping off the counters and walls. It looked nothing like the apartment we toured or agreed to. When we raised concerns, the assistant manager offered a larger unit but refused to accommodate the price difference, essentially asking us to pay more for their mistake. We then waited to speak with the property manager. The manager came in without introducing himself, acknowledged he was already aware of the situation, and after we explained that we were never told the toured unit wasn’t available, he flat-out said he did not believe us. No accountability. No apology. No effort to make things right. This experience at 1070 Main St Apartments was unprofessional, misleading, and unnecessarily stressful. If you tour an apartment here, do not assume you’ll receive what you’re shown, and get everything in writing. I strongly caution anyone considering renting here.

Got told to wait after a certain time on the move in date due to them “still getting the apartment ready.” Fireplace had cracks and markings on it, there was food in between the fridge and stove, the laundry door was scrapped up, bathroom was terrible. They don’t respond to emails and when you have an issue, they want you to submit an order that they close out and “complete” when nobody ever got the job done. Don’t waste your time or money on this place.

I woke up Friday, May 5, 2017 with a golf ball sized brown recluse bite on my upper right thigh. I knew immediately what it was because I had been bit before and had all of the same symptoms. The bite TRIPLED in size in a matter of 3-4 hours and I was suffering from horrible nausea and fever, I had chills I couldn't get rid of, etc... I WAS SICK!!! I went to the doctor on that Friday. She confirmed that it DEFINITELY WAS A BROWN RECLUSE BITE and put me on antibiotics, prednisone and nausea ...
medicine. The next day, (the bite was now baseball sized) I KILLED 2 MORE BROWN RECLUSE SPIDERS. By this point I had called the apartment complex and threw a wild-eyed fit, and it seemed to be no major concern to them. I walked into the office and showed them this EXTREMELY SWOLLEN, BASEBALL SIZED bite on my leg... but it seemed to be no big deal. They offered to have the exterminator swing by and spray the next time he was there on site... Every morning I wake up and this bite is at least an inch larger in diameter. On May 9th I was interviewed by FOX NEWS about the pictures of the bite they saw on facebook. I continued killing brown recluse spiders EVERY SINGLE DAY in my apartment 2 NIGHTS IN A ROW I went to climb into bed and pulled my bed covers back and there was a brown recluse spider IN MY BED - 2 NIGHTS IN A ROW - unmistakably brown recluses! I took pictures of one of the spiders while it was crawling on my bed and posted it to the apartment facebook page. No reply, empathy offered, no solution offered, no compensation offered. I've had to go spend the night somewhere else. There has NOT been one single day in the last week that I haven't found a brown recluse spider in my apartment. Their attitude about the whole thing has come across as passive and aloof. I feel that they are taking me as some kind of hypochondriac- when this bite FINALLY stopped getting larger (after about 5 days) it was about the size of a basketball! I am not joking. This has been horrifying. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I'm not out to make anyone look bad, but If I can write this review and hopefully keep someone else from having to go through this nightmare, I will! Please pray for me that I make it out of here alive!!!!
