New Management style - We want your money above all else!
April 28, 2026 - Review from Apartments.comIt was much better to live at Harrington before the management changed hands. Staff is either incompetent (many new agents who lack experience) or intolerant of anything besides what they want. Their negotiations tactics with tenants has basically become MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY. Maintenance team is full of good people, but it often takes a long time to have requests filled. Elevator buildings experience elevator down periods of potentially weeks. Many of the residents here are loud and obnoxious. ...Prices have gone up by a lot this year alone, and I wouldn't predict it being better next year. Harrington is such a beautiful place and I still feel so pampered. The apts with 9 foot ceilings, huge closets, a kitchen complete with stainless steel and granite everywhere! Outside, there's a lovely pool, dog park and the beautiful club house where Harrington had a huge holiday party for all the resisdents recently. Too many amenities to list honestly! Wonderfully enough, the best part of ...Harrington lies in the amazing staff. Ms. Karissa the Manager, Rachael and Ashley treat me with such kindness and care and it's greatly appreciated. Each time I've seen Ms. Denise she's taken time to ask how I am and help with anything needed. It's the genuine kindness I appreciate the most! These are just hardworking people! The maintance crew will handle my requests same day (usually) and a couple of times- they fixed issues within an hour. Yes, truthfully! LOL. I'm a retired military Combat Nurse, so I've rented places all over the world and truthfully the care and professionalism here at Harrington is best I've had. That's why I just renewed my lease! Former Property Manager Did 5 Star Review
November 11, 2020 - Review from Apartments.comThe 5 star review from Nov 30, 2019 was done by the former property manager, Scott. Should be removed since it's a fake review. Most of the actual residents wouldn't recommend this place due to the poor customer service given by the new management. If you live in the back of the complex, you get the pleasure of listening to a particular family's kids screaming outside at night and their dogs barking outside off their leashes. The kids ride scooters through other building's breezeways and the dogs ...chase other residents' pets and kids. They don't pick up their dogs' waste even though HV claims they DNA and fine for it. HV also ignored this family being in the pool after it was closed with their little kids, which is against the law since the pool doesn't have lights. HV claimed they would revoke residents' access to their amenities if these kinds of policies were broken, but many residents are frustrated HV doesn't enforce these policies for this ridiculously rude family. Not comfortable OR affordable
October 21, 2020 - Review from Apartments.comUnfortunately, Harrington Village does not live up to their promise of "comfortable, affordable" living. After living here for one year, the price I've paid does not equate to comfortability at all. The noise between units is far from what should be expected in any apartment complex, especially a new and updated one. The police are on property at least once or twice a week for drug or domestic-related issues. The dog park and surrounding walking areas are saturated with dog waste, although there ...are plenty of stations to dispose of this around the property. Management requires you pay a fee for pet DNA sampling upon lease agreement so that pet waste can be sampled if found; however, I have yet to see this process put into place. Management has not been actionable to problems on-site, which is why issues such as rowdy neighbors, noisy children, drugs and domestic disputes continue to happen and rise. I've lived in an equatable apartment inside of Wilmington for the same amount of rent that I am paying here in Leland - I have had much better experiences (with the unit, management, neighbors, etc.). The turnover in the office has been high throughout my yearlong stay. If we were not relocating we would still be there because it was love at first sight. It has the best staff that really made us feel as if we were in a hotel.
