The views are amazing, the layouts are great, love the amenities, but it’s really the staff that makes it brilliant! The maintenance team, Michael, Richard, and Ben are remarkable. They go above and beyond and take pride in their work. Their work ethic is something you don’t always see in Portland. The office staff is so sweet, thoughtful, and helpful. Sky, Rebecca, and Michelle are always friendly and willing to help. They put on fantastic resident gatherings and really show they care. I have ...

Harrison Tower is quiet, clean and very chic considering its mid-century modern history. the Maintenance gentleman - Richard, Michael and Ben drop what they are doing to take care of a myriad of duties for the tenants - amazing guys. Mike fixed my bathroom floor and the flaw in the floor disappeared. Richard fixes my drain 20 minutes after I submit a work order - 20 minutes I swear they are the best. The building is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The office girls are friendly ...
and kind. the maintenance guys are just simply top notch. Did I mention the maintenance guys LOL just kidding but do you know how rare it is in a city this size to have guys actually address and solve the problems!?!

Well just so you know, I had a door slamming next door neighbor and the guy would leave his apartment 3-4 times a night, all after midnight and slam the door that was on the wall that my bed was against so it would wake me up EVERY - SINGLE - TIME. These guys here at Harrison Tower solved my problem, silenced the door and made it so I can sleep...keep in mind the door is SILENT...something technical I don't get but SEAN and RICHARD and BIG and LITTLE MIKE fixed my problem like POST HASTE!! I recommend living here for a multitude of reasons: Some are a great facility with sizable units, friendly staff that is always happy to help with any request, a good location in the city that isn’t too overwhelming/noisy, and lastly great views in all units with ample natural light for those who need it.

MOVE HERE NOW!! This apartment building is the best in Portland. From the amazing staff, especially Jillian and Michael, to the incredible units with spectacular views, to the unbelievable access to the city of Portland. This is a wonderful atypical place to enjoy Portland urban life. We moved here two years ago from the Portland suburbs and we love it.
This is a big heavy old unstylish concrete building. We don’t hear our neighbor’s music or TV and they don’t hear us. Open the big heavy windows in the summer and the breeze just blows on through. Quiet inside except for occasional sirens. Balconies are wide and deep.
Views and location are outstanding. The streetcar is right outside the front door, MAX ...
light rail and busses are two blocks away and it is EZ walking to the waterfront, downtown and the posh Pearl district. Five minute walk to summer music on the river but you won’t hear it in your apartment. No supermarket close by so you gotta walk almost a mile or ride the streetcar to get to Safeway.
The immediate neighborhood is officially certified non-trendy by the Portland State urban planning folks. It’s a university community and quite a few of your neighbors will be students including foreign students. You are surrounded by PSU so you might as well like a university community. Other neighbors are working professionals, retired professors and other retirees. Dogs abound and there’s DIY dog grooming in the basement. Close by dining is more food carts and fast food than expensive fancy dining. Take the streetcar if you want to spend a lot for dinner.
Instead you get spectacular award-winning Lawrence Halprin - designed parks and fountains and quiet green shady walkways that replaced city streets before busy noisy mixed use streets became the official Portland mantra for urban design. Quiet and green is OK for me.
Management is friendly and effective. They fix stuff almost immediately, take care of issues we never thought to ask about and are very responsive to the routine requests. They are willing and funded to do the maintenance and upgrades this aging building needs.
Harrison Tower Apartments is not ADA friendly and not very car friendly either. You have to go up steps just to get into the lobby and getting to your car is easier elsewhere. I was told they cannot easily retrofit just the front entrance for wheelchairs because then massive ADA retrofits become mandatory throughout the building. To get to your car, you have to go out the door, down some steps, across a walkway and down another elevator. This is an urban walker’s paradise. Not for everyone.
