Bad property management
December 26, 2024I’m sad to give the place I call home one star but that’s all it can be as long as Wanda Manning is the property manager. She is not only rude, it’s like she gets joy out of abusing her minimal power by saying no to any reasonable request for assistance. The reputation is building-wide, and it’s a shame because we’ve had really wonderful, empathetic managers in the past. Before considering living here, you need to accept that most of your packages will be stolen and you will have bugs. There is ...also a bogus monthly AC fee to skirt around the building being rent controlled. I do have love for this place and hope one day it can be pleasant to live in with a manager who cares about the quality of their residents’ lives.Property Manager Responded

Our onsite staff takes pride in providing exceptional service and we’re sorry you feel this has not been the case for you. We want to address your feedback specifically and let you know that our onsite package lockers provide some security for package deliveries, however they can become over-full if packages are not picked up in a timely manner. Additionally, we recommend noting your building name with your delivery address so delivery service providers are more likely to deliver your packages to the correct building. Our community is treated for pests on a regular basis, and we ask all residents to let us know of any specific pest issues so that we can make sure they are addressed in a timely manner. Finally, the monthly fee for A/C is standard in D.C. rent-controlled apartment buildings. Nice Staff and Nice Neighborhood
August 12, 2015I have been living in Highview/Castle Manor since 2003 which should tell you something about how much I love living here. The staff is super friendly and the neighborhood is so convenient to all the grocery stores, department stores and restaurants. There is a laundry mat on premises as well a gym. They are pet friendly building and all utilities are included with the rent. These buildings share a large yard and a large courtyard with gas grills. The view from these apartments are amazing ...because the overlook the city, no need to look for a great location for fourth of July. There are plenty of parks within walking distance and the green and yellow line metro is accessible north or south of 13th street. Other major neighborhoods are in walking distance as well like Adams Morgan, U Street, Columbia Heights, Midcity, Downtown and Petworth to name a few. Parking can be tricky but the school next door allows after school hours parking and on the weekends. Of course there are plenty of cabs to be hailed on 14th street. Pretty nice spot.
November 14, 2014I found Highview online through Apartments.com and contacted them to inquire about availability. The office staff was very friendly and it turned out there was a unit that fit my budget and move-in timeframe up for grabs. I went and toured the location, saw the apartment, submitted my application, and voila! I am not a future resident of Highview.Review from Apartments.com
