I lived in one of the old houses on Clinch avenue. I loved the location and the house, but the management was absolutely horrible. I have never written a review, but after what I experienced, I knew I needed to. Please avoid Hillwood Villas at all costs- they constantly harass you about parking (even though it is your lot) and don’t care about your well-being at all. stay during that time (mind you, there were snowstorms going on and below-freezing temperatures). They told us to use our oven for heat- laughable. They gave us space heaters that didn’t work (although they will claim they did!) and those outed our power anyway, so they just sat useless in a corner. They sneakily turn down the heat (if it is working- slim chance) and the maintenance men felt bad for us so they would come into the basement at night and turn it up for us.
We had roaches when we first moved in and were not provided with any help to get rid of them, we spent a lot of money on products ourselves. The trash piles up outside in the lot, attracting rats. They don’t take care of it unless you call codes on them.
All of the tenants banded against management, but it would have been too costly to go to court. Therefore, we all left with nothing and a lot of anger towards Hillwood Villas.
They are not there to help you, only there to get money out of you. If something breaks, don’t expect it to be fixed any time soon. If you have questions and happen to go to their office downtown, they are never there and they will not even answer their phones. Super shady and not professional at all. Good luck to you if you choose to rent with Hillwood! Like I said, loved the house and location, but desperately needs new management.
