November 3, 2020Gates rarely work, people tried to break into the apartment twice. I had to call the police. Short-term rental so utilities were supposed to be included in monthly rent. Each month’s rent was different because of inclusion of utility bills. Then, received a huge bill for “utilities” upon vacating the apartment. Very shady.Property Manager Responded

Management
December 5, 2019The management sucks and does not handle business professionally. I paid for two parking spaces but wasn’t given a decal. Weeks later I m headed out to NTC and my vehicles are missing. They were towed!!!!!! I had to Uber to the airport! Missed my flight! My wife had to go retrieve both vehicle from the towing company and it costed over $600. It was a horrible experience. We didn’t receive any money or apologies! It was all because the cars didn’t have decals (they failed to give us) that ...we were paying for. Hopefully the new management is better!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

July 16, 2019I roomed at IP Killeen for a little over a year. I had a great experience. The staff was always kind, especially if you took the time to speak with them yourself. The service provided was excellent and quick. The prices could help you keep a hundred or two in your wallet, but I take it that you’re paying for more than just the apartment, which I was glad for. Military
June 18, 2019I came to Fort Hood knowing my unit was deploying and looked for apartments with monthly leases, preferably furnished. When I met in person at IP, I told the staff my specific situation and that I would likely only be around for a month or so. They convinced me it would be cheaper to do a yearly lease since I could break it with orders and a 30 day notice (SCRA) and wouldn't have to pay a higher monthly rate or higher up front fees as with the monthly lease. What they didn't tell me was that it ...would not be prorated like the first month was (I thought the month as stated in the lease was the next 30 days instead of the next entire calendar month) making me pay for an entire month I will not be there. Also, after giving them my commander's verification of orders and them saying they would accept that (which they have to), I got a phone call a couple weeks later saying I was being charged another $900 for breaking the lease. That is a total of $2000 they are trying to get out of me in addition to the amount I paid for when I lived there that would have been avoided if I did not go with their suggestion. I believe they purposely misguided me and took advantage of me. Do not trust them.Property Manager Responded

Unprofessional Management
November 20, 2017Do not rent here if you can avoid it. The senior property manager is dishonest and unprofessional. The parent company, Place Properties, is just as unethical and promotes such policies, especially towards military service members and their families. July 23, 2017Independence place is wonderful, it's alittle pricey but the apartment is a great size for a 1 bed/1 bath. Neighbors aren't noisy, and the complex is at a good location, I don't have to go out of my way to go get food or groceries. Oh and maintenance is A1 they always try there best to fix your problems.
