After searching for months to find a suitable rental property, I had begun to think it impossible to check all the boxes needed to fulfill our needs. The task of finding an apartment that would feel like a home after having lived in a house for many years seemed difficult enough but moving my 92 year old mother in with us really complicated the situation. I had begun to feel very discouraged when I stumbled upon Jacobs Woods Apartments in Lansdale, PA.
From the moment my husband and I drove
...into the apartment complex, it felt different - very much a neighborhood. The grounds are carefully thought out and beautifully maintained. Wonderful sidewalks wind throughout Jacobs Woods accompanied by lovely trees and flowers. Residents throughout also add their personal gardening touches in front of their residences and on their adjoining balconies and porches. The feel of home is very evident throughout all of the Jacobs Woods neighborhood.
As we stepped into the office to get more information on the various rental options, we were impressed by the friendliness and professional demeanor of the staff. The staff manages to seamlessly address the needs of multiple visitors and/or residents in a cheerful and timely manor. Not always easy, I'm sure! After discussing our needs, we were given a tour of several suitable floor plans. I have to say we were blown away by the quality of the structures, the spaciousness of the units and the very "non-apartmenty" feel of these homes.
I finally felt I had found the one place where we could all be happy. We now live here in a 2 bedroom master floorplan which is an ideal arrangement for having my mother live with us as it gives us all some personal space. The task of finding a rental property that allowed for her safety in the bathroom was really a chore. The bathrooms at Jacobs Woods are very spacious and will easily allow mom to maneuver around in her wheelchair. The tub arrangement is the only one I saw in all my looking that would allow me to safely get mom in and out of the tub. I had no idea what a challenge it would be to find a place that would support mom's safety but I must say I was relieved to find Jacobs Woods after having looked at one after another places where it would be dangerous or impossible to have my mom with us. Though our apartment is all on one floor, it is a second floor unit, so we will be adding a stairlift for getting mom up and down the stairs when we need to. Again, the staff h
