All access doors to the buildings are locked on the outside. There are keypads at each entry but they’re merely for decoration. So! Amazon, furniture, flower, FedEx…any delivery HAS to go to the package room. I’ve lived in other complexes that had package delivery, but you also had the option to get delivery to your door. Imagine getting a desk delivered from Amazon and now you have to go get it and it you’re not on the first floor, carry it upstairs. Or! You have the pleasure of paying someone ...
to do it.
This goes for guests, Instacart, DoorDash, or anything similar. You have to leave your apartment and go to one of the entries to let them in every time. Now! Imagine how fun this is with a toddler! You would think the leasing staff would have since enough to share this when seeing someone with a small child. But! They didn’t. So if you’re someone who hosts often, or if you have a small child, be mindful!
Also! If you’re a single person, you can only have one fob for your door. Even if you have a medical need or have a care giver for your child. One key fob. This also was not stated prior to moving in. Again, I’ve lived in other complexes and this was never an issue. They each gave me a fob, no problem. Here? Unless the person applies and qualifies as though they’re going to be financially responsible, you cannot have the second fob. My sister came to visit for a week, imagine how fun that was every time she came and went!
Their argument is safety of course. Meanwhile! There’s been a man sleep in the hallway for multiple days. There was a man sitting in a chair at the bottom of one of the stairwells one day. There was another man who was just hanging around on the first first of my building for several days…charging his phone in the hallway, bags in the stairs and the hall…yea! A mess.
There’s also been several car break ins. I haven’t gotten any communications from the apartment but my impacted neighbors let me know as a heads up after it happened to them. One of these neighbors STILL couldn’t get a second key fob so that her daughter could check in on her AFTER she’d been impacted by a break in. Another neighbor let me know her bedroom window had been broken between 1a-2a.
