I lived there for five years and my mom lived there 2 1/2 years. We liked it very much. It’s peaceful and our neighbors were fabulous. I would still be there but my landlord was slow to do repairs. The entire time I was there, the kitchen floor needed to be fixed. It never was fixed. And as I was moving out the refrigerator died. It was over a week and no fridge ever came. I lost all my food and didn’t even get an apology. My mom’s landlord was awesome. She fixed/replaced things right away. If I ...
had my mom’s landlord we’d probably still be living there. The nail in the coffin was when I moved out, I was charged for painting after living there five years and charged for cleaning the carpet that had been there since 2005. The carpet needs to be replaced. One last issue is the gate breaks frequently and is out of service for weeks sometimes. This is a nice place to live as long as you don’t get the landlord that I had. Enjoy your stay at Karen Lakes.

  Hi there!I think you may be confusing Karen Lake Apartments with either Karen Lake Condominiums or Karen Lake Townhomes. Karen Lake Apartments are managed by Hawthorne Residential Partners, not by individual landlords as you have described. So you would only ever be in contact with our office and our office staff. I think you might have more luck reaching out to Cornerstone Real Estate as they are the HOA that I do believe runs both the townhomes and condominiums. I just recently moved here after the new management company took over and I must say they are great. Communication is always a plus for me and they are excellent at it. The community is small and cozy and the office staff are always friendly and easy to contact if there are any issues.

I love it

I love Karen Lakes. If my significant other and I wasn’t moving soon, we would be right here. I love the space these apartments have and I LOVE the master bedroom and bathroom. It is only 2 of us and it’s more than enough space and it’s enough space for family members to visit as well.

Bad management

Worst place to live. Management is awful. You can never reach Lauren by phone. You have to send an email and wait for a response. Repairs and issues are never rechecked. I have a broken window in my bathroom. It has been a month today and has not been repaired.
