The L39 Apartments is a controlled Access Building! Conveniently located off N Lombard Street in Portland's coveted St. Johns neighborhood, this building is perfect for you! These apartment homes offer stainless-steel appliances, fully equipped kitchen, modern fixtures, heating and air conditioning, bike storage, a private patio or balcony depending on location within the building, hardwood like flooring, controlled access, Amazon Hub locker, and your own washer and dryer inside your new home – say goodbye to laundromats! St. John’s is a walker and bikers paradise with scores of 91 and 94! Within minutes on both sides of the building, you will find your local Fred Meyer and Safeway to meet all your grocery needs. Do you happen to partake in the McMenamins Passport challenge? The St. John’s Theater and Pub is only an 8-minute walk or 1-minute drive! Not a morning person unless you’ve had your coffee like me? Take an 8-minute stroll through the quaint surrounding neighborhoods to Cathedral Coffee and enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee or tea and scone or muffin. Attending school or are a faculty member? University of Portland is a quick 4-minute drive or 7-minute bike ride or head East to find the Portland Community College Cascade campus. If you need a study break or enjoy completing school work outside, Columbia Park and Annex is a great spot to bring a blanket and snack to relax or study away! Sound Insulation - A travesty
January 31, 2026I have now stayed at two different apartments in this same complex, due to one of the members burning their apartment down and the resulting damage requiring me to move. I was quite satisfied with my apartment, so I thought moving into an identical one right down the hall would be no issue. If you're renting here, be absolutely sure that you're in the half not facing Lombard. Be absolutely sure that your neighbors don't have socialization patterns that keep them talking throughout the night. ...There is no sound insulation to speak of. I can hear murmurs of conversations and movies of an apartment that has two other apartments in between my unit and theirs. I was able to be blissfully ignorant of this in my first apartment, and in that one I would have rated this complex as the best one I've ever lived in. Now, it's middle-bottom. If sound isn't an issue for you, you should have no problems here.Property Manager Responded
February 6, 2026Hello, I'm sorry to hear that your experience in the other apartment has not been as great as in your first. If you are having issues with neighbors not adhering to quiet hours, please email the property manager and she will contact them directly. Not all apartment complexes are soundproof and during the build of this property, the owners used the insulation that is up to code. There is an opportunity for you to transfer back to your original apartment after the repairs are completed should you wish to do so.
