Jerson, Paul and the leasing staff were fantastic, friendly, and communicative. I had to put in a small maintenance request after moving in and Oscar was quick to help, efficient, friendly, and gave me great suggestions for upkeep. Leasing office is difficult to contact and when you do get to talk to someone, they aren't much help. However, since the management changed I have had a couple of issues like delays in maintenance resolution, one lost package, and annoying parking system. If you don't believe me, try calling the building number and choose the touch tone dial option saying you are a current resident, and see if you can ever get anybody on the line. DO NOT MOVE HERE
August 21, 2022Ever since COVID started this building has gone completely downhill. The management does not care at all about making this a nice community and instead treats tenants as hostile. The leasing office is argumentative and unwilling to uphold even the most basic community standards outlined in the lease. If it wasn't for the location this building would be empty. -The walls are paper thin. I've heard so many animals around me throughout the day that I felt like I lived at the vet. -My neighbor ...chainsmoked cigarettes in his unit every day but management did NOTHING about it despite me notifying them when he was smoking. -They tried to force me to pay hundreds of dollars in cleaning fees when I moved out even though I deep cleaned the apartment myself. I literally had to consult my friend who is an attorney to show me the law that forbids them from doing this (but it won't stop them from trying!). -The on-site parking is a complete mess. My car has been damaged and I've heard countless stories of other accidents. The valet has huge turnover and nobody there takes their job seriously. -The common areas, hallways, and gym are usually pretty gross (trash being in the halls for days, lack of cleaning equipment in the gym, overall poor upkeep). Don't even get me started on the outside of the building - the area on the LaGrange street side is always disgusting! I've also lived across the street in the Kensington and had an overwhelmingly positive experience there. AVA may treat their tenants like garbage, but many other "luxury" apartment buildings in the area can actually deliver on their promises.
