August 28, 2023 - Review from Apartments.comThe neighborhood in and surrounding Lakewood Manor has increasingly become unsafe, lacks security, and has slow to no response from the local police. Lately (as of Summer 2021), there has been a string of car thefts, altercations, vandalism, racing cars through the neighborhood, loitering, smoking weed in the laundry rooms, and firework fires, to name a few, among other things. I constantly notify the Lakewood Manor Leasing Office and, more recently, the Lakewood Police. I recently called the ...Lakewood Police on 07/21/2022 to address a belligerent person assaulting one of my neighbors, and the police told us there was nothing we could do and that this neighborhood "is getting worse." If you're planning on renting here, please be aware that these incidences continue to happen without viable solutions or support from the leasing office and local police. August 17, 2022 - Review from Apartments.comI’ve lived here for five years and the first three years were great. The staff was excellent, the property was constantly maintained and cleaned. The security gates worked, and the office staff responded super quick to any issue I may have had. There were no roaches, you could literally walk outside at 2 a.m. it was quiet and safe. That all changed when the Management changed as well as the staff. The security gates never work, there is constantly homeless people coming inside the property to ...your door, they stopped cleaning like they should, the garbage overflows every weekend, and now there are roaches. The rent goes up every year but there are no upgrades for the cost of what you’re paying. There are already no amenities with this apartment property. People are constantly smoking weed and it comes into your house. July 22, 2022 - Review from Apartments.comThe neighborhood in and surrounding Lakewood Manor has increasingly become unsafe, lacks security, and has slow to no response from the local police. Lately (as of Summer 2022), there has been a string of car thefts, altercations, vandalism, racing cars through the neighborhood, loitering, smoking weed in the laundry rooms, and firework fires, to name a few, among other things. I constantly notify the Lakewood Manor Leasing Office and, more recently, the Lakewood Police. I recently called the ...Lakewood Police on 07/21/2022 to address a belligerent person assaulting one of my neighbors, and the police told us there was nothing we could do and that this neighborhood "is getting worse." If you're planning on renting here, please be aware that these incidences continue to happen without viable solutions or support from the leasing office and local police. April 15, 2022 - Review from Apartments.comDo not move here. I moved to Lakewood Manor nine months ago, and in the past five months the community has completely fallen apart. The gate to enter our complex has been broken for months, the laundry units remain dirty and due to the doors being broken to them I’ve caught homeless people doing drugs and the you know what in there. Do not move here. Next, a new resident moved in with his partner and they have had the police at their home at least once every two weeks. They are constantly ...fighting and disturbing the peace and even though multiple neighbors have complained to property management and or called the police on them, property management has done nothing. Do not move here. I wanted to talk to the director about my lease and if they could move me into another unit on site but before I could even ask he told me he couldn’t renegotiate my rent rate, even though that had nothing to do with what I wanted to talk to him about. Do not move here. If you’re on the fence about moving here, or are attracted to the low rent prices, do yourself a favor and Do Not Move Here. Carpet is wet, window is leaking, clothes and bedding are ruined. All they can say is I have to open my window. The apartment complex is ALWAYS well kept, the maintenance crew is ALWAYS on top of things when you need them, the office staff is GREAT! The location couldn’t be any better, you literally have every store & major food chain restaurants right across the street. The area is super safe & quiet. Can’t say enough positive things. The only reason we’d leave is to become homeowners!

The units are spacious and clean, the neighbors are nice and friendly, and the staff has been very accommodating. This is a pet friendly apartment, so your four-legged companions can come with you. And I have to add that even though a good part of the residents own pets, I have NEVER had a noise problem (i.e. dogs barking in the middle of the night). But perhaps what I like the most is the location. It is right across ...the street from Lakewood Mall and various grocery stores - perfect for shopping. You can merely walk down the street and you have an endless choice of restaurants. You would also be a couple blocks away from the city library, sheriff's station, fire station, post office, and Long Beach City College (LBCC). The 605 and 91 freeways are a very short distance away, and PCH is also nearby if you'd rather take the scenic route into Orange County. The only downside so far is the lack of available street parking. Other than that, I have to say I have been more than pleased by my decision to rent at Lakewood Manor, and I highly recommend these apartments.Read More
