Roach Infestation
March 5, 2019There’s are roaches everywhere in the apartments, bathroom, kitchen, living room and even the bedroom. I saw bugs and roaches on the wall the very first day I moved in. I went to the leasing office to lodge a complain, they gave me an insecticide called hot shot to use for the mean time and told me the exterminator will be coming and never did. The new management is the worse. They lie about everything. Apply if you like roaches.Property Manager Responded

Generally agree with Happy Tenant
October 7, 2017PROS: I've been here a couple of years now, and the new management team has been making some very welcome improvements, mostly to building exteriors and landscaping. Responses to maintenance requests have also improved. The buildings are fairly old, meaning the space you get inside is relatively large compared to more recent constructions. The location is quite good, if you need access to metro or the rest of Hyattsville. The West Hyattsville Green line station is less than a 10 minute walk ...away, and numerous buses service the neighborhood. There's also a nice Bestway supermarket just steps away that has lot of latin, caribbean, and african foods. Also, I just found out that the Hyattsville Police will be moving into the old bank building just across the street from Bestway -- so presumably the police presence in the area will increase (not that it's an unsafe neighborhood, which it isn't). CONS: Then again, as I say above, the buildings are old, meaning also that the floors have many layers of sealant (including whatever's trapped underneath) and the doors and doorframes have many layers of paint. The fixtures and appliances (at least in my building) are fairly dated but not terribly so. Cabinets and countertops are pretty plain and unremarkable. No real bug issues, but we are regularly freaked out by large spiders and the occasional camel cricket -- again, I think of these as 'old building' issues. Perhaps the the biggest CON I can think of (and the one that has me finally looking to move) is how noise, vibrations, and even smells travel between the units, at least in my building. We hear every step our upstairs neighbors take, hear many of our other neighbors' conversations (and everyone's arguments), and we smell everything that anyone is cooking and/or smoking, especially when the central air unit or fan are running. We don't mind the cooking smells as much as we do the overhead noise, cigarette and marijuana smoke (yes, a lot of weed, at least in my building). Anyway, hope this helps anyone planning to check the place out.Property Manager Responded

Happy Tenant
March 2, 2017I am a happy tenant and very pleased with the new management (J Alexander) I have lived at Landon Court for 4 years and prior to the new management there were a lot of upgrades needed. J Alexander took over management about a year ago and there has been an amazing face-lift. From Landscaping, new kitchen cabinets and floors, new insulated windows and other interstructural upgrades. I have had NO issues with Pest Control. (Ms Tina) our resident manager is a breath of frush air. She is very ...accommodating, professional and follows through with tenants needs. The renovation have been timely and professionally done. Thumbs up to the engineering and maintenance crew. They are doing a great job in keeping our community safe and beautiful.
