omg I love my new apartment. apparently some of them are remodeled and they must be really gorgeous. I was put in something called the 'classic', but really, it's just the ones they didn't remodel. The space is like nothing you see in newer builds today. you just have to see it to believe it. If you like older and charming this is the place for you. I live in a 'large'. I knocked off one star because it has taken over 4 weeks to get rid of the bugs. Here's my advice. Do not move anything in, or
...at least don't set up, until 1) every baseboard is sealed with caulk. that is where the roaches (yes roaches) come in. Sealing the baseboards eliminates that problem. I mean move the fridge and stove too. 2) Seal every window frame as well. that is where the ants come in. Use pest control though to get the bait to kill the nests first. then seal. Maintenance will and can do this but it takes a long time. better to just have some handy so you can work on it too. just saying. took and is taking over a month, because you have to wait for the nests to die after you discover them. 3) get a new floor sweep for your front door and weather stripping for the side. bugs can come in even after your own apartment is sealed. Finally 4) you'll want to have your heater room sealed for mice. I didn't see those yet and don't wanna! lol. Once that is all done (probably another couple of visits after 4-5 weeks) you will have a gorgeous place. I used bleach spray (per internet) to get rid of mold around the siding within the front door frame. and am still cleaning my bath tiles and wood flooring, which were dirty on move in. It's a discount apartment so 'the works' aren't really included when you move in, if you know what I mean. Sherelle is great to work with too and VERY understanding. Maintenance has a great group of people. you will have to wait a few days or more, though for non-emergency requests, i.e. requests like the ones above. And be patient if your hallway/stairwell area looks bad as that is a to-do for them. mine was embarrassing when I arrived, lol. (Advice above per pest control, which comes on wednesdays to the property). Best of luck in your apartment search!!
