I have lived here for four years, but unfortunately I can no longer recommend this property.
For the past couple of months, I’ve had ongoing A/C issues that management has failed to resolve. Yes, cool air comes out of the vents, but it’s so weak that my apartment regularly reaches the 80s during the day. My A/C has been running virtually nonstop for nearly two months, and it still can’t maintain a livable temperature.
I work 12-hour days, so I don’t have the ability to constantly stay home ...
waiting for maintenance or repeatedly follow up on the same issue. Meanwhile, my dog is left in an apartment that becomes unbearably hot because this problem has been allowed to continue for months.
What has been even more frustrating is how the situation has been handled. Maintenance has entered my apartment without notice, and on one occasion walked in while my fiancée was in the shower. That is a serious invasion of privacy and completely unacceptable.
Rather than fixing the issue, maintenance has repeatedly come in, looked around for a few minutes, and told me everything is “working” while the apartment continues to overheat. At this point, it feels like more effort has gone into documenting the thermostat than actually solving the problem.
I’ve attached photos showing the apartment temperature while a portable A/C unit is running in addition to the apartment’s A/C system, as well as a photo of maintenance documenting the thermostat. The pictures speak for themselves.
After four years of living here, I expected better communication, respect for residents’ privacy, and maintenance that actually resolves problems instead of repeatedly telling residents everything is fine when it clearly isn’t. I rarely leave negative reviews, but prospective tenants deserve to know what they’re signing up for.

Not a great place

Been here for a few months, elevators do not work like at all. How can you call yourself a wheelchair friendly place but the elevators don’t work nor get fixed? Staff is completely inattentive and ignores inquiries/emails or calls on issues that need to be dealt with such as roach issues from past residents. Disruptive neighbors that have random yelling sessions at 3 AM. MAA Addison is a nice area in general but I would not recommend living here.

3) Common areas are dirty and when complaints are made they go unanswered
4) Service requests are cancelled and might or might not be completed
5) Parking is nearly impossible and management doesn’t address it.

Bad community covered up with a nice area

I moved here almost two years ago because I like the Addison area and the price was right but MAA Addison Circle has went downhill since then. My rent increased more than 15% when I renewed my lease after the first year and I’m sure there would be another dramatic increase if I decided to renew again when my lease expires later this year. Common areas such as garages, pools, stairwells seem like they get cleaned maybe once a year. I notified the office of a dead bird in the garage right under the ...
call box for all visitors to see almost two months ago and was promised that it would be taken care of. The bird remained there and after notifying the office two more times without any resolution I finally submitted a work order to have maintenance pick it up. Maintenance marked the work order complete without actually removing the dead bird and since then two more dead birds have dropped dead in the garage which is a lovely sight and smell for you and your guests to walk through as you make your way from the garage. The excessive cobwebs and stains on the walls in the stairwells and hallways are disgusting. It looks like something out of a haunted house.
I’ve been requesting a new ventilation hood since I moved in. The light on my hood powers on but the fan does absolutely nothing. Maintenance has told me that since it turns on as evident by the light, that it’s Ok if the ventilation hood doesn’t actually serve it’s intended purpose of ventilation, which is the dumbest thing I’ve heard in my life (and I’ve heard some dumb s*** in my day). To top it all off the office refuses to accept packages on behalf of the residents and won’t at least get a package locker. This has resulted in delivery drivers not being able to find or access our apartments in our heavily gated buildings with confusing layouts. Therefore they leave our packages in unsecured areas which has cost me more money in stolen packages then I care to think about at the moment. All in all there are much better places to stay in the area for comparable prices. Avoid this place.

Every time I called the office I was told that I would be called back within in the hour. I doubt that statement was ever followed through with as the six times I had an issue I always had to call back at least twice to get someone to help me. Sometimes even having to resort to taking time off work to go sit in the office until I was helped. Not the complex for you if you want to enjoy peace and quiet. The area is nice and has some good places to eat. The office is difficult to work with, security is slow to respond, and the residents act like it’s spring break all day every day.
