Good experience
October 25, 2024Lived here from August 2023-October 2024, overall a good experience. Ground floor apartment, rarely had any bugs in the unit. While the leasing office wasn’t always the most helpful and did not always communicate information until the last minute. Maintenance (Mike) was very helpful and always courteous. The trees surrounding the parking lot drop sap year round and it attracted wasps and ants so regular car washes was a necessity. The neighborhood is in a good spot and we rarely had noise issues, ...and though this isn’t the safest part of Kennesaw/Marietta, we felt very safe here. Our unit was in pretty great condition upon move in, and if I weren’t relocating I would consider living here again.Property Manager Responded

DO NOT MOVE HERE
September 26, 2022DO NOT MOVE HERE! 1. Lizards found some way to enter inside of my apartments and pest control informed me that him and other MAA staff members were discussing that they didn't believe me because lizards were currently "hibernating". I was able to catch one and show property management since they didn't believe me. 2. There is only ONE garbage dumpster on site for a property that has 100+ people living there which leads to the dumpster being overfilled. 3. They force you to use Xfinity because ...they have some type of back deal contractual agreement and we are automatically charged for Xfinity although Xfinity's wifi is extremely unreliable. If you Work From Home, this may become an issue! 4. When you move out and need rental verification proving that you stayed there, they will not provide verification which will make it difficult to get approved for any other apartment moving forward. Good luck finding somewhere else to stay once you move out since MAA won't verify your rental history. 5. Before I signed my lease, I was told that I could move in on a specific date but when I was provided with my lease to sign, a different move-in date was provided and the only thing they did was "apologize" for the incorrect information that one of their staff members provided me. 6. When you first move in, they ask that you leave a review which is why you see so many 5 star reviews on here. The 5 star reviews are mostly from people that have not received the full disappointing MAA experience yet.Property Manager Responded

3 Month Update 2022…
April 19, 2022I’ve been living here at MAA BARRETT for about 3 months now, I originally moved out the city for a more calm area that could also provide me with comfort and security, I couldn’t be any more pleased with MAA BARRETT CREEK.With myself having higher standards when it comes to my living situation MAA BARRETT raised the bars.I often reach out to Whitney -Super helpful always willing to go above and beyond ! The location is amazing, very convenient to local shopping centers and malls. If I had to ...think of a con off the top of my head I’d just say parking can be a hassle if you get off later in the evening there’s always spaces some just further across the lot due to first come first serve. Other than that I LOVE IT HERE , can’t wait to see what new changes they’re bringing in for us residents I love a property that’s always growing to make things easier and better for its residents.Property Manager Responded

February 26, 2021They allowed my downstairs neighbors to continuously disturb my rights to live in my apartment by banging in the ceiling! The tenants below me were an issue from the day I moved in. I wasn’t even living in the apartment more than a week and the harassment started. I contacted management and was told that the tenants under me had a history of this behavior and they have a file on them. I should not contact the tenants directly because it wouldn’t help the situation. The tenants had been moved ...once, within the complex, because of this continued behavior. I kept reaching out to the complex and was told that they would talk to the tenants. This went on the entire time I lived there. My son and I are both people with disabilities. My son made noise while he visited and this is when the issue became an escalated issue. I did everything I could think of to try to fix the situation. I was finally so fed up that I was nearing the end and of my lease and asked to be released due to this consistent harassing behavior. The tenants below me were in breach of there lease due to harassment and other issues. I was denied. The complex said they would evicted the tenants below me to rectify the situation and never did. This issue was ignored the entire term of my lease. Not only is the management poor with communication and holding tenants accountable to lease terms, they hide behind emails and ignore my continued requests for something to be done. I am not allowed to break my lease and breach contract due to this issue, but the tenants below me could be in breach of their lease and nothing was done. Seem fair to you?!Property Manager Responded

Overall Stay
May 17, 2018I have been a resident here for almost three months and I absolutely love it here. Management is amazing and professional and nice. Ricky helped me with my move in process which was very smooth. There was no hidden fees at all. Maintenance is amazing and they usually answer same day or within 24 hours. The price is great, residents have access to all shopping stores, restaurants, and entertainment. The environment is always clean. I would improve the gym which is pretty basic, there needs to be ...more updated equipment, but I feel safe living here.Property Manager Responded

Enjoyed my stay
August 19, 2015Been here since 2013 and will be moving out next month. The only reason I am leaving is because of my growing family. The maintenance always responds in a timely matter. The roaches were a big issue in the winter but it is understandable because I am a few feet away from a lake and I am on the terrace level. The exterminator was only a call away so that was a plus. The residents were a pain in the butt, leaving trash outside, letting their dogs defecate anywhere, no common courtesy for others. ...The gate to get into the apartments is always broken but they try and fix it fast and it is majority of the residents fault.
