Utterly bad bad apartment experience
June 27, 2024We have been their residents for more than 1.5 years and recently going to a 2bed apt to a 3 bed apt, it has been our worst experience. When it was time for our lease to end at the second one, they gave us an express cleaning charge etc and said it automatically went towards our account if we didn't say no to it. However this hadn't happened to us last time we switched apartments with them so that charge came as a shock but when I asked them they were like it has been here for a while but they ...didn't tell us last time we moved. Afterwards we had the worst experience moving into our third unit with them. The water pipe was so rotten that it burst in one of the bathrooms and the entire place flooded on day 1. Before that, they claim to give us the apartment neat and clean but that is so not the case. We had rusted light shades, seepage on the ceilings, paint was bad on a couple of walls, the panels under the kitchen cabinets are torn and look disgusting. It was horrible. Now they have also put a charge on our account for 'deodorize treatment' for the apartment we moved out from. This is just getting ridiculous now and that charge for $180 makes no sense. We left the apartment in a very good condition, even cleaned up after still having the express cleaning. Very bad and disappointing honestly with this apartment complex.Property Manager Responded

Dishonest contracts and renewal
November 30, 2022Beautiful landscape. Diversity of real Bugs/ crawling insects to greet you when you get home, water intrusion, moldy windows/walls/bathroom, stinky plumbing, flooding near patio on lower floor, rotting structure throughout community, Indifferent office staff, normal neighbor living will feel like a 500 pounder lives near you, exhaust fans/venting do not work - but make plenty of noise. NO renewals available, Full New contract to sign w/ beyond inflationary Price options.Property Manager Responded

Do not rent here if you dont want to nickel and dimed
October 24, 2022I just moved out of the Lighthouse Apartments on Fleming Island Building 20 and paid the fee that MAA charges for apt and carpet clean up. Instead of cleaning the carpet like I paid them to do, the office just decided the carpet needed to be replaced and is charging me $675 for it stating it was due to excessive wear and tear. When i asked them to show me proof that the carpet couldn't be cleaned all the front office did was send me pictures of the carpet that wasn't cleaned. They didn't bother ...to attempt to clean it they just wanted the carpet replaced and wants me to flip the bill. When I refused and told them to clean my carpet and show me proof that it couldn't be cleaned, they just stated they somehow knew it couldn't be and threatened me by saying if I don't pay they will send me to collections. I refuse to pay for something they decided to do that wasn't necessary. Ald their apts are riddled with roaches and do nothing to help but have a guy come spray randomly when you put a ticket in!Property Manager Responded

Terrible
October 9, 2021Te quieren cobrar por todo, sus precios son altos, la administración no ayuda en nada ni le importa tus inconvenientes por ejemplo, tuvimos problemas en 2020 con el trabajo por la pandemia y la manager Stacy no se humanizó y nos dió la opción de no pagar la renta ese mes y pagar todo el mes siguiente pero nos cobrarían $75 por cada día de retraso, nunca ayuda a solucionar problemas que tengas incluso con el apartamento, la administración es muy tacaña y poco empatica. los alrededores siempre ...huelen a orines y están llenos de popo de perro, la piscina siempre está llena de moho, el gym tiene varias máquinas malas desde hace dos años, las cosas en los apartamentos son viejas cómo los inodoros que por dentro son llenos de óxido y moho, no les gusta cambiar nada. Cuando te vas te cobran 122 por limpiar una estufa, un microondas, una nevera y 5 cabinetes aparte de que te cobran la pintada del apartamento y la lavada de la carpeta. Es el peor lugar para vivir especialmente si tienen niños.Property Manager Responded

Indecent Neighbors / unsafe living
October 21, 2019We have had to call the cops multiple times on a neighbor who has been very unstable. We’ve heard screaming and fighting both in and outside of the apartment , smelt the smoking in the breezeways, They have been leaving lighters and red solo cups in front of their door like a fraternity and leaning against other residents bedroom windows. That is not all, they have been asking other residents for money and confronting people who have complained (or think have complained against them) We do not ...feel safe and it’s been months of complaints and it doesn’t seem it will resolve before our lease is up as the only thing the office can do is leave notes and having us call the sheriff. They expect a lot of financial fees and time in order for us to break our lease which we can’t do. Two people from our building have left due to this and pest control issues ect. The staff is nice but it doesn’t change the issues. We were also told that the screens were sprayed and cleaned quarterly and that wasn’t true.Property Manager Responded

June 7, 2019I?m absolutely in love with my apartment. They got me a spot with everything I asked for! A beautiful lake view on the top floor ! Not only is the view amazing, my apartment is the perfect size for a one bedroom. Very spacious and the appliances and counter tops are gorgeous !! Every time I have an issue, lighthouse maintenance helps me out ASAP. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. I love my pet ducks and geese that live outside my window!
