Best kept secret in Atlanta
January 16, 2026It’s excellent because 1. Location. You are minutes from every major interstate, you are minutes from Buckhead and all the great shopping and restaurants, you are minutes from the Battery, home of the Atlanta Braves and the great restaurants there, you are minutes from Mercedes Benz stadium, and downtown Atlanta, you are steps from the Chatahoochee river if you like being on the water.Everyone here is very nice, the property is beautiful, and we don’t seem to have the problems that other high ...end complexes in Atlanta. I’m going to retire soon and will have to leave. I WISH I COULD STAY FOREVERProperty Manager Responded

Frustrating Move-Out Process & Arbitrary Charges – Be Cautious
May 1, 2025I completed my full lease term at MAA Riverside, paid rent through April 30, 2025, vacated the apartment by April 26, and returned the keys the morning of May 1. Despite this, I was charged $293.71 for three days of rent in May—after my lease had ended and without any valid explanation grounded in the lease. When I disputed the charge, MAA changed their reasoning multiple times: first calling it prorated rent based on my vacate date, then a “late notice fee,” and later citing a clause meant for ...early lease termination—which didn’t apply to my situation. I was never informed that listing a vacate date past my lease end would create new rent charges, and there is no clause in the lease that justifies this. This experience has been disappointing and unnecessarily stressful. I’m sharing this in the hopes that it prompts a fair resolution and to caution future renters: thoroughly document your move-out process, and don’t assume clarity or consistency from management when your lease ends.Property Manager Responded

stay away
April 17, 2024i have been a tenant about 3 years. they chopped down all of my landscaping a year and half ago and i sent them pictures and asked, along with several other nearby tenants, that they restore the landscaping. they refused and were nasty and lied. now fast forward to today, i am leaving here next month, and who should appear at my door? A landscaper from Brightview. So now that I am leaving they fix the landscaping to fool the next tenant. Then they will chop all that down after the tenant ...moves in, like they did to me. Will raise rents
March 9, 2023Amazing community and very unique spot to live with access to trails and shopping centers, but MAA uses Yieldstar so they have no problem pushing you out to continue to increase rent. Employees are bound to the software and fully reliant on upper management so they are not informative or helpful to tenants as they’re sole responsibility is to reiterate talking points from their bosses. The community is worth a premium, but be cautious of what they advertise as they are not always truthful.Property Manager Responded

No complaints!!
February 27, 2023I've lived at MAA Riverside for a little over two years now. I've never had any issues while living here. The complex is super pet friendly and almost everyone here owns a dog it seems like. I feel safe walking my dog at any time of the day and that was a big priority for me when searching for an apartment. The complex is huge, but fairly quiet and maintenance keeps up with everything. I've never waited more than two days for maintenance to address any of my work orders and there have only been a ...handful in my two years of being a resident. The only reason I gave a 4 star review rather than five, is because the leasing office is not great on following up with things. I usually have to go up there and just speak to someone if I have a question, because if you call, 9/10 they'll tell you that they will send an email and they rarely follow through and send it or do what they said theyll do. Fortunately, l rarely ever had questions or concerns and my interactions with the leasing staff were minimal. Like i mentioned previously, i’ve lived here two years and i’m now looking to move simply because I'm bored and want a change of scenery. But this is a great place to live.Property Manager Responded

Wouldn’t choose another property in Atlanta
July 22, 2022I’ve lived here since it was a Post Property, through the MAA/Post merger, and as it is now, MAA Riverside. While I do agree that the quality of office management has gone down significantly, it hasn’t impacted my overall opinion that this is an excellent place to live in the metro area. The complex is quiet, area/neighborhood is safe, amenities are beyond fantastic, property is well kept, mail/package rooms are indoors and organized, maintenance requests are completed in a very timely manner, ...and access to nature plus the Chattahoochee Recreational Area is perfect while being well secluded from Highway 41. I wouldn’t consider renting anywhere else in Atlanta - MAA Riverside feels more like a home than an apartment you rent.Property Manager Responded

May 26, 2022Beautiful location but absolutely everything else is terrible. Was ready to sign the lease but they requested a 6x rent requirement if using a guarantor, which comes to $13,000+ a month in income. They do not allow split-guarantors when they initially said they did. Absolutely absurd standard. I have the pockets to pay for this place but they gave me an extremely tough time trying to close. The processes I had to go through were all sorts of hell-bent. I provided several solutions and explained ...that rent payments would the least of concerns and they could not be more of a broken record player spitting out the same 6x income requirement rather than talking me through solutions. The regional manager called me and was immediately rude to me and that was the last straw. Got my deposit back and turned the other way.Property Manager Responded

I would give this place a ZERO if I could!
July 31, 2021Date:7/31/21 Time: 1:00pm This was probably the worst experience I’ve had while looking for apartments. My boyfriend and I came into the building, waited by the door for about 2 minutes and no one said anything to us. There were two women sitting in the front and did not acknowledge us at all. There was one woman sitting to the left on the phone and another woman on the right talking to a customer in person. We proceeded to take a seat hoping that someone would acknowledge us. 11 minutes passed ...and no one looked our way or said ANYTHING to us. This was truly poor, horrible customer service. My boyfriend and I wanted to tour the place because it was number 1 on our list of places to see. However, that was not our experience. When we decided to leave, STILL no one said anything to us. This is not how to treat potential tenants. I will be spreading the word of how the customer service is at MAA Riverside. Those ladies should be ashamed of themselves.Property Manager Responded

The Office Staff is Terrible
July 17, 2020The staff in the office are unprofessional, incompetent, and rude. They will do anything and say anything to get your money. Stay away from Denita. The communication is terrible and they do not take any accountability for their mistakes no matter how adversely those mistakes effect your life. They will just dismiss the blame and get loud and belligerent. They lied to me about my application fees and administrative fees being waived. Then they lied and strung me along for a week about how I could ...prove my income. A woman claiming to be the manager got upset that I contacted corporate after a week of being given the run around so she called me to rudely defend her office's incompetence and tell me that she would not help me and I could just go somewhere else.
