Home sweet home
March 2, 2024MAA Shoal Creek is a wonderful place to call home. Beautiful apartment. Spacious and modernly updated. The staff is great. Very quick to answer and solve your questions and needs. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Perfect location to get to 183/121/360 and 35 pretty easily. And near a hospital as well.Property Manager Responded

Don't do it, go elsewhere
October 18, 2023Relocated here for work and the apt I originally signed a lease on was not available had to re-sign a different lease. The apartment was filthy when I moved in, dead roaches in all the cupboards and the kitchen light fixture was full of them too. Bathroom sink was leaking underneath and called to have it fixed. By the time they got there, my bathroom had wood rot under the sink, water damage everywhere. No screen on sliding glassdoor, which by the way didn't lock when I moved in either. ...Dishwasher would fall on my feet everytime I opened the door because it was secured. I paid for Express cleaning when I moved out, was charged on 8/17/2023 and I paid it in full on that day. Payment even shows on their resident portal but now what to charge me again on 9/17/2023. Can't get anyone to call me back or respond to an email but want you to know that it will go to collections. Please don't move here if you want your sanity. Wifi was always going in and out and I worked from home so that was also a nightmare. Looks like a great community, perfect location, but don't be fooled. Look elsewhereProperty Manager Responded

April 28, 2023My experience has been terrible as a whole. They are strict with on what they need from you but don’t extend the same courtesy. Create their own rules regarding pet exemptions as opposed to following the laws. For being in the business of renting people apartments, they fail the care, attention, and maintenance needed to make it feel like home. Trash is an issue here, as well as pet waste. Lots of hidden charges that get pretty ridiculous and high. They’ll charge you a $80-145 cleaning fee when ...you move out but turn around and tell you that they had to change out the carpets and send you an almost $900 bill for it…don’t feel like writing a novel so I’ll leave at that.Property Manager Responded

Don’t do it!
February 20, 2023Maintenance is a joke, exterior lighting for your safety is not a priority, the trash piles up every week, the dog disposal units constantly overflow. This place is the most over priced and over rated I have ever lived in.Property Manager Responded

June 8, 2022Sommers was my agent and she did not forget any of the details I requested. She contacted me shortly after my first visit when an apartment that met all my requirements became available. Andrew, Sommers and the staff were friendly and approachable. I witnessed their interactions with a tenant while awaiting my tour. Think Twice
May 10, 2022Where do I begin? *Moved in and found roaches *Water heater busted and flooded apartment *Furnace broke 5 times and continuously ran leading to paying over $300 in electricity cost *Washing machine broke 3 times before they finally replaced it. *Trash all over, the creek is filled with trash and a breeding ground for mosquitos *Bedroom window infested with carpenter ants - bitten multiple times *Moved into old wrinkled carpet, that was clearly cut and laid back down *Pools are very shallow - 3 ...feet *Fitness equipment does not work well Paid $450 pet fee, $150 cleaning/carpet fee, on top of that accused of pet stains on carpet, charged an additional $75 - Here is the thing *3 of the areas of stains they had in pictures, I had furniture in those places the entire time I lived there. As some one with construction experience, they are slicing the carpet and pulling it back to accuse the current exiting tenant of damage and then laying it back down - to repeat the process to charge people more money. Did I mention this was confirmed by their maintenance staff? At renewal time they went to raise my rent by $250 - no thank you. When I tried to call their corporate office, I left 5+ messages with no return call. I would strongly recommend to avoid this property and any property with the MAA name in it.Property Manager Responded

Love it here!!
April 7, 2022My fiance and I have been here for 3 months now and we love it!! We live in the 1bed/1bad with an office, I think they call it a den, but it's basically 2 bedrooms and it's perfect for remote work. After moving here we began to think our old complex was lying about the square footage, and our friends think so too. Either we were lied to in the past or this place is laid out REALLY well because this floorplan is so spacious!! We have absolutely no complaints about this place. It's a beautiful ...property, well kept, and has lots of great perks. We don't have any issues with the place, but occasionally we need a lightbulb changed, a screen was torn when we moved in, and the maintenance staff has always been so kind. They always get stuff done in a timely manner and make sure the job is done correctly. We live on the first floor with a creek view and we love how beautiful it is. Our dog is a huge fan of the walking trail, and our cat loves the constant window entertainment. Sommers in the office is one of the nicest people we've ever met, she's hardworking and never ceases to impress us with her courtesy and dedication. We love her so much! There is truly nothing bad we can say about this complex, however our electricity bill is much higher than we are used to. To be fair we switched companies when we moved here and we've heard our rate is much higher than most, so I'm sure the high cost is due to our poor choice in energy plans and not about the property. If you're unsure about moving here and you want to live in this area I promise you won't find a better property for the price. This place is a 10/10!Property Manager Responded

Great front office staff!
December 9, 2021I've lived here for almost three months now. I love it. Their front office staff is excellent!! The only complaints are the lack of parking, rent cost after all the add-ons you can't opt-out of, the living room and bedroom have carpet(I have dogs), and I live on the corner of a very loud intersection. Other than that, all of my neighbors are kind. I live on the second floor with people above me, and it's not too loud. They are a dog-friendly community, too! The cost of living is going up in this ...area, so I don't fault MAA for the prices. I recommend these apartments if you can afford them and can pay for covered parking or a garage.Property Manager Responded

Overall, okay
September 23, 2015The updated unit that I live in has nice appliances, cabinets, and fixtures. Apartments has good space and layout. Maintenance is okay, sometimes they mark the work order complete a day or so before it's actually done. The complex has a 2 nice pools and fitness center. The grounds are kept well, but the stairways and landings can stand some TLC. There a broken lights, wasp nests, chipping paint, etc that should be addressed.Review from Apartments.com
Great Apartment and Community at a Reasonable Price.
September 6, 2015I've live here for a few months now and i don't have any major complaints. The community is nice and well kept. The community is gated and they actually keep the gates closed, which is a plus! The residents are friendly and approachable. Every time I've made a maintenance request online, they were prompt in fixing the issue. The only negatives that I would have is that the leasing office never answers their phone, which is a bit annoying. Though, they will call you back if you leave a message. ...Parking is also very scarce! If you come in after 10 PM, you can forget about it! You'll definitely have to park further away from your unit. They do offer covered parking at for an additional fee. All and all, this is a good place to live. July 29, 2015These apartments are very nice they have great features. The walk in closets are amazing. The kitchen is a nice big kitchen with microwave and refrigerator already included. They have washer and dryer connections and they also provide the washer and dryer which is amazing. They have a nice fireplace in the livingroom. They also have trash connections when all you have to do is put trash outside your door tied up in your trash bin provided. The rooms are a great size for me and my daughter. July 22, 2015The apartments are great,very quiet and around a lot of activities.It has a walking or jogging trail in the complex.The amenities inside are great,cveiling fans in the living room and bedroom.full size washer and dryer connections,high ceilings.They do nickel and dime you on things like front door trash pickup,cable and covered parking.The fitness center is nice,the pool is a little small but nice and clean.I am renewing my lease so I really do enjoy living here.Review from Apartments.com
