It?s quiet and clean. The staff is very kind, especially the maintenance staff. My major problem with the complex is the lack of recycling. No facilities are provided and so the dumpster gets backed up quickly with boxes, etc. it?s a shame so much goes to the landfill.

We have lived here for the past eight years, and really feel comfortable in our three bedroom apartment here at Village Oaks. Although the office and maintenance staff has changed several times over the years, we've always experienced a warm and welcoming professional and personal relationship with the complex staff.

I feel like I'm in Jail

Working a nightshift, I expect the place I live to be respectful of that and others who work at night. Not the Case HERE! Landscapers begin their shift at 8:30am. The property only focuses on keeping the central or middle outside of apartments looking really nice, while my building in the front is neglected. I feel like I'm in jail being forced to wake up after only 4 hours of sleep. Last night, another avoidable accident at the gate with cars honking the horn constantly and people arguing. ...
My neighbors smoke cigarettes on their balcony which then stinks up my area like a bar. Then they litter the back of the buildings with their cigarettes. Oh and the trash dumping on the preservation behind the building, you can literally find tires, broken glass and no care whatsoever for wildlife. This part of Tampa is NOT a good location in terms of having to drive more than 15 minutes to the nearest grocery store. The pollution from I-75 and constant construction projects make breathing a heavy task. And all of this has been told to the leasing office which then I was directed to call Customer Care line, but somehow MAA corporate never gets my complaints and redirects all the complaints back to the leasing office. The other reviews are very true and I cannot wait for my lease to be up!

Abuse and neglect of dogs and cats

As a long time resident, I am appalled and saddened by the constant neglect I hear and see. Dogs bark constantly from empty apartments that supposedly have people in them. A homeless man has found refuge in the back. I have never seen anything this bad at any other apartment, that includes NYC and Chicago inner cities. I thought Village Oaks was a nice community. The leasing office could care less about the residents here. And if the response to this post is to contact the office or ...

5 years were great, the 6th was NOT

After 6 years of living in this complex, it used to be a beautiful, great place to live in Tampa. Since September of 2015, I have had nothing but issues. A resident has attempted to steal my patio furniture, only to ask my girlfriend if they could have it when we observed them spying. We have had dog feces placed in front of our door multiple times. The leasing office actually blamed my dog. The leasing office staff is inconsiderate and just writes these general letters instead of actually ...
confronting the issues. When you write any bad reviews about this place, an automatic response is used on every site to dis acknowledge any complaints. The leasing office also does not enforce the same rules for everyone. Some apartments have childrens chalk drawings all over the floor, some have trash thrown all over the back of the property. However they voiced complaints about my apartment when my place is spotless and my rent is on time. While the second floor apartment was being cleaned out, the workers spilled all the dirty chemical carpet cleaning solution on to my car purposely. If you want to have daily stress, horrible management, and overpriced rent. This is your place. Otherwise STAY AWAY.

Village Oaks is a great community. Easy access to Florida's main highway (I-75), walking distance to the county parks that have river access, but still tucked away so that you are not bombarded by the busy sights and sounds of such a populated city. The people in the front office have always been helpful. You should be able to come home and breathe a sigh of relief after a long day and be able to relax, and Village Oaks gives that peace of mind.
