While the rent is relatively reasonable for a 2 bed, 1.5 bath, there are several significant drawbacks that make living here frustrating.
The biggest issue is the HVAC system. It must be manually switched between heating and cooling modes by maintenance, and residents are not allowed to do it themselves since it requires accessing a panel inside the unit. While management is typically proactive about turning the heat on for winter, the transition to air conditioning this spring has been handled ...

On April 1, 2026, residents were notified that the system would not be switched to cooling yet due to low nighttime temperatures. However, temperatures began rising again in early April, and management did not adjust their plan accordingly. The property has around nine buildings, and they only switch one building per day, with no work done on weekends. They didn’t begin switching to cooling until Monday, April 10, meaning some buildings, including mine, won’t have A/C until April 23.
As a result, my apartment has been consistently between 82–86°F since early in the week, with no way to cool it down aside from using fans, which are ineffective due to the humidity. It’s extremely uncomfortable and relaxing after work or even sleeping becomes difficult when the apartment is this hot.
Many residents have reached out about this issue and were told that maintenance is understaffed and the process cannot be expedited, which is understandably frustrating given the conditions.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the only problem. Running the dishwasher, even after rinsing dishes, leaves plates, glasses, and utensils with a rusty, moldy odor. In the bathroom, mold begins to form on the ceiling within just a few days, despite regular weekly cleaning. Additionally, the floors are very squeaky and you can hear the exact spot the person above you is walking because if it and in some areas you can feel the boards underneath sink noticeably when stepped on.
The only reason I’m giving this apartment 2 stars instead of 1 is because the office staff are responsive and seem to genuinely try to help. However, it’s clear they don’t have the resources needed to properly address these ongoing issues.
