Wonderful Building and Community, Unprofessional Management
July 16, 2024 - Review from Apartments.comAll the good reviews are before the change in management in December 2020. The elevator is broken, and they will tell you they’re planning to fix it soon, but they have not scheduled a repair, but they gave me multiple false timelines. I love my neighbors and the charm of the old building, but there is shotty workmanship galore. I’m glad to be leaving. Management sent out typo ridden rants, although they seem more professional since mid 2023. Must have been a complaint, as staffing has not ...changed. The manager never leavers her apartment but is constantly watching the cameras. She used to email about every small incident in the lobby, it feels like living in a surveillance state. They claim the cameras for our safety, but they didn’t cover our mailboxes which could have been fixed by adjusting the camera by a few feet. Mailboxes have since been moved to a package room that recently got a camera after package theft got out of control. Latex paint was used over oil paint, and is splattered over every fixture, even lights, and many outlets are painted over which is just unsafe. The sinks were refinished incorrectly and peeled away within weeks, trapping food and bacteria galore. A Gem in the Heart of the NW District
May 13, 2020 - Review from Apartments.comI have lived at the Manhattan Apartments for a year now and I could not be more pleased with the experience. The property manager and the owner have been extremely friendly and helpful. They are always available to answer questions and post info relevant to residents in the lobby/halls/on doors with plenty of notice. The building is definitely older and shows some signs of wear, but there is so much character and it has been well maintained. The neighborhood is perfect with easy walking access to ...multiple grocery stores, parks, trails, and public transit. We have not had any issues with noise within the building, just usually city sounds being so close to downtown! Overall a great experience so far.Read More

It is in a walk distance from whatever we need (Restaurants, Markets, Buses, Trains, Banks, Clinics...etc.) I will miss this place for sure, and I will always recommend it to others.

The professional leasing staff is always greet you with a nice smile, warm welcome, and great faith. The apartments are nice, clean and quiet. it is located in a walk distance from whatever you need (Markets, restaurants, clinics, coffee shops, pharmacies, gyms, bus stations ... etc). You couldn't feel safer any where else in Portland as you feel in this neighborhood. I will always recommend these apartments to others.
