November 25, 2025Living at Mount Vernon Apartments has been the best 3.5 years of my life. The community is warm hearted and always bring me a smile. As for the room, it was well cleaned and had that new apartment smell when I moved in. It is spacious, even big enough for my 5 children and 2 dogs.Review from Apartments.com
Only would live here as a last resort
August 24, 2022I moved here at the start of the 2020 pandemic as I was in desperate need to find a new apartment and there was nothing else available. Truly, this is the only scenario I'd recommend living here. When we moved in, the apartment wasn't cleaned at all, there was rotting food in the fridge, and an old mattress left in the bedroom, all of which we had to clean ourselves. Since living here, we've had multiple unsolved maintenance/plumbing issues despite repeated complaints, which culminated in human ...sewage exploding out of our bathtub. Despite this being a health hazard, this was something us we were told to clean ourselves. There's also an issue with mice and roaches, and the laundry room is an unfinished basement with a dirt floor that floods frequently, but the sewage backup into our apartment is unbeatable in terms of awful experiences at this apartment complex. Would not recommend!
August 8, 2022I have been a resident of Mt Vernon for the last few years. I would not recommend this place to any family or friends for several reasons. The main reasons are the patch work jobs to fix issues, the building are old and outdated and a handful of other issues. Pest and bugs, units are poorly renovated, lack of cleaning within the main areas and basement and being able to hear everything the person above you or below you does. For the price of what this property charges, find a different place!Review from Apartments.com
