Could not walk through my apartment without stepping on several cockroaches. Unable to cook in the kitchen due to them swarming.

Aging more gracefully than I am!

The current owners keep this complex in very good repair. If maintenance requests are made, they're attended to quickly and efficiently. It's an older complex, but they're updating all the units with lovely amenities like laminate flooring, new appliances, and exposed beam ceilings.
One of the apartments had a rodent problem earlier this year, but I know that was 100% due to the condition the tenant kept his unit in (was invited in once - had to plug my nose to tolerate it). The owners took ...
swift action with an exterminator, and that tenant has since moved out. We've never had any problems with vermin of any kind, other than the occasional ambitious snail that climbs the balcony to feast on our garden.
As with most older apartments, the walls between units are very thin and sound carries. We have pretty quiet neighbors, but I know some others have found that to be a bit annoying.
It's rare in this area to find a place that allows pets - especially with no pet rent (just a higher deposit). The neighbors, for the most part, are a friendly (but reserved) lot; this isn't the place for partiers. It's a lovely place to sit on your private balcony and enjoy a foggy sunset with a glass of wine. We really enjoy living here, compared to the other options in the same rental range in the area!
