Outdated and miscommunication
July 14, 2023I'm writing to express my disappointment with my recent experience at Oakwood Estates. Unfortunately, my expectations have not been met in several key areas. The apartment's condition was outdated, contrasting sharply with the contemporary, well-maintained impression I had from your promotional materials. It seems an extensive renovation is due to bring the space up to modern living standards. The persistent smell of stale cigarette smoke in the apartment was another issue. Despite repeated ...attempts to ventilate and clean the area, the odor has remained and significantly impacted the overall living environment. Moreover, the thin walls in the apartment have significantly compromised my privacy and tranquility. The constant exposure to noise from neighboring units has proven disruptive, falling far short of the peaceful living experience I had envisioned. Lastly, the level of communication with the office staff has been far from satisfactory. Recurring miscommunication and a lack of clarity have led to confusion and added stress. Considering these issues, I find it challenging to recommend Oakwood Estates as a comfortable or enjoyable living option.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

Disappointing even before leasing
July 17, 2018Paid the application fees, got approved. Asked the leasing agent if I can pay the security deposit by credit card, she says yes. But seems so cool and relaxed that I trusted her that she would hold my desired apt for me. I was travelling from India to the US and around the weekend when the office is closed, she tells me on Monday that the apt is no longer available, someone else got it! Moving next week and have no place to go. Lost $50 as well. Unfortunate that people can't be trusted.Property Manager Responded
July 26, 2018We have a $100 hold fee to secure the apartment and we strongly encourage interested parties to take advantage as to not lose the apartment to another customer. We attempted to call you several times to secure your deposit and we were unable to leave you a voice mail because the inbox was not setup. Great Place to Live!!
June 25, 2018I have lived at Oakwood Estates for 2 months. Love it!! Close to Sertoma Park, shopping etc. I moved from a house & my friends said an apartment would be noisy, obnoxious neighbors etc. Not so.Everyone who has visited has been so impressed with how quiet my apartment is. And how clean & well maintained! Other residents super considerate! And it was so clean when I moved in!! Maintenence people always so awesome about the small issues I have brought to their attention. Very very nice people!!Property Manager Responded

Not worth the amount.
December 1, 2016You can hear everyone that lives in the apartment next to you and every word they say. The people above you walk and you can hear every move they make. In ither words there is no insulation in the walls. Then the office is hardly in the office till 6pm! When the sign says they are open till 6pm! The office sign will say close at 5:15pm 5:30pm. Then when you call the office about something all they will tell you is that its apartment living. Really its not. Its called putting isulation in the ...walls so you can hear your neighbors. The place is so cheap but they charge a person an arm and a leg to live here for absolutely nothing. Its completely embarrassing to even invite friends and family over.Property Manager Responded
