  • Gone Downhill

    Been a resident for ten years. Maintenance staff is prompt and efficient. The building is kept very clean. If you like the smell of weed, this is the place for you! It’s prominent on nearly every floor and comes into your unit all day and night through the vents. Nothing is done about it and you will just get snarky responses from the management office. Rent has gone up astronomically (10% the last two years) and for the older building and what you get it’s just not worth that kind of ...
    money. Air conditioning is horrendous. Unit will not get below 70 degrees at any given time. The building leases out several hundred units to Kasa which is Airbnb’s. This presents its own set of problems. Elevators are out of date and the fire department had to come and rescue someone off of one of the elevators earlier this year. This used to be a great building but there are much better options in Chicago.

    Living at One Superior Place is a dream come true. Management's ongoing commitment to cleanliness, speedy response to resident issues and overall genuine care and concern for its residents is at the highest level of service expectations.     So far, the amenities stand up to par. The amazing views of the apartment is what got us and definitely still amazes me when I walk in to my place. Love how dog friendly this place is!

  • Elevators always out of service

    If you enjoy leaving your apartment then this is not the place for you. The fact that all 3 elevators servicing my floor have gone out of service more than once while I've been living here for the past 6 months is absurd. 1 of the elevators hasn't been functional since I've lived here, so even when the other 2 are operational they are often packed, and take forever.

    One Superior Place has excellent management, security, and maintenance. One Superior Place is excellent as there respective staff noted above are professional, knowledgeable, and courteous to the me. I truly recommend One Superior Place to anyone looking for a fabulous apartment building to live at. In conjunction with One Superior Place’s staff. The building is near all modes of public transportation. Not to mention One Superior Place’s close proximity to excellent restaurants.

    Building is nice. Views and balcony are top notch. Location is great. It's very convenient to have Whole Foods right across the street, as well as other grocery stores and restaurants very close by. Layouts are fantastic compared to similar properties. While it is nice to have doggy daycare in the building, my experience thus far has been that this is not a dog friendly community. The dog run is a joke. It's unkept, outside, in a parking garage. I can't think of anything worse. It's dangerous for ...
    the residents and you have to take two elevators just to get there. It's usually not even worth it to use. Also disappointed that we are not allowed to use certain entrances when coming and going with pets. It makes no sense. Last, many of the units really need an upgrade. Having carpet is embarrassing to the renter and reflects poorly on the building as a whole. The cabinets are also dingy and old and the tile in the kitchen/bathroom is way outdated.

    Not to be corny but One Superior Place is superior in space, amenities and location. I can get anywhere I want to go by walking to movies, theatre, some of the finest restaurants and of course the lake. But this place wouldn't be anything without the Superior Staff!! They are amazing!!

    I have lived in One Superior Place for almost 10 years. I have been extremely happy living here. The location is amazing, the patios are wonderful, the space itself is my official sanctuary. I cannot say enough good about the staff. Both of my parents had dementia and I moved them here so I could take care of them several years ago. Not only did they find me a two-bedroom apartment to move into with them (I was in this building but living in a one bedroom) quickly, the staff got to know my ...
    parents. They always greeted them, made them feel welcome and gave me thumbs up when I came home from work to let me know all went well during the day (when they were ambulatory, they walked every day and the front desk security would always let me know - it was wonderful). My parents have since passed away and I am now in another one bedroom but I will be forever grateful to the One Superior Place team for taking such good care of them and me. It has been a pleasure to live here.

  • Expect long Elevator Waits

    Because of the apartment building's proximity to the hospitals in Chicago, you will hear sirens all night long. Additionally the elevators have been in the midst of a renovation for the past 20 months, including some days where the call button doesn't work, so be prepared for long wait times and to maybe sometimes walk all the way down to the ground floor from your apartment.
