I am a former resident of Orchard Meadows Apartment Homes in Ellicott City. After moving out, I was charged for drywall repair that I believe was ordinary wear and tear. I requested documentation and itemized repair costs, but the issue was never properly resolved.
Because the disputed balance involved a collection agency, I paid it under protest to avoid any risk to my credit while I was buying a home. That payment was not an admission that the charge was valid.
I also had the photos reviewed ...
by someone with drywall/contracting experience, and I was advised that the damage did not justify the amount charged. I later requested a refund of my deposit and the disputed payment, but I have not received a meaningful response.
Future residents should be very careful at move-out: take photos and videos, keep all emails, request a written inspection, and ask for itemized invoices for any charges. This was a very disappointing experience.
