    I knew when applying, application fee would not be refunded, but most places refunds admin fees or deposits paid toward move in. This place does not. Learn from my mistake before applying, the $150 fee is not refunded if application is denied.

  • Not worth the price

    They’ll probably comment on this to say they wish to talk to me directly, but I already have tried with minimal help. In fact, them responding to this will probably be the most help in terms of them asking us what the issue is. I’m not perfect- I parked in the handicap multiple times after long/hard days of work, and I eventually got myself towed. There’s not really any valid excuse for it. At the time I felt that they were not being used and other free spaces were being taken up by motor homes ...
    and broken down vehicles. The worst part of it on my part is that I work with handicap children, and I know how frustrating it is to not find a parking spot. So my bad- I’ve learned my lesson. Speaking with the front office feels like they’re preparing to trip you (metaphorically), and get ready to prove themselves right no matter what. No humility. No compassion. Very condescending.

    Ovation at Tempe deserves 0 stars. If you're thinking about renting here think again and look some where else. The staff only cares about the money, not their renters comfort, safety and well-being. I leased a unit from here for one year and started having trouble during the middle of my lease up until now (after I've turned in my keys) with maintenance and office staff. The leasing manager Amy is a VERY disrespectful and NASTY individual. Lauren at the front desk says one thing but actually ...
    means another; in other words she doesn't know what she is doing. The building and grounds are disgusting. Ovation is supposed to be "gated." The gate has been broken for months. I've been trying to call the regional director since November to complain since the staff at Ovation are unprofessional and don't know the meaning of customer service, but have yet to hear from anyone, even after leaving SEVERAL messages. Shelton-Cook is awful and I'm so glad that I decided not to transfer to the "renovated" unit my husband and I were going to move into.

    I moved here in December of 2016 after doing TONS of research because I was making a cross country move. I started with a list of ten locations, and over time, whittled that list down to two. This complex won because the other location wasn't accurately represented by the pictures. BEST decision I could have made. They definitely take property management seriously, as well as resident satisfaction. Couldn't be happier here in the Valley of the Sun

    This apartment complex is great, compared to any other apartments around tempe area, not only is this place affordable but the management is great and the service is fast. The apartment itself are big an spacious, so there is enough room to make it feel like at home.

    These apartments were called Monarch at Tempe, but recently changed their name to Ovation at Tempe due to new management. Nearest cross streets are Hardy and Baseline or Hardy and Southern. The only complaint I have if I really wanted to be picky is they don't answer the phone and may take forever to return emails. Other than that no complaints. I live in one of the town homes on the property and I like it. The maintenance manager lives two doors down from me and is very friendly. If I need ...
    anything he personally gets it. The rest of the maintenance team are very helpful and get the job done fast...in some cases may have to do it twice if they misunderstood the request, but they are still very prompt when you submit the request. They just did a remodel of the complex, makes it look more modern and semi new. A lot of units are or have been remodeled as well. Mines was one of them. The complex is quite for the most part. If you live by college students you may hear loud music every now and again, but if its unbearable just knock on the door and they will cooperate with you. The location is great. Its near the I-10 and US 60...I wish there was an entry and exit on the actually street for the US 60, but at the same time I am happy there isn't, you don't have to deal with too much traffic that way. Very close to the mall, if you walk or ride your bike/skates/skateboards etc on the canal you can get to the mall ten minutes or less. In a car you have to go all the way around the huge blocks either on Baseline or Southern but the distance is still close. Close to ASU and Mill Ave bars but also far away enough to not be around too many rowdy college students. The neighborhood is great and the complex has a mix from college students up to active senior citizens. Pet policy changed, I believe there are no breed restrictions anymore. I say this because I have seen pit bulls and other huge dogs (aggressive and non- aggressive). Leasing staff has expanded. I've only came in contact with the manager and two others (one is longer there), but they all seem nice except one. I don't know her name nor do I speak to her if and when I am in the office just to avoid attitude etc. Again nothing to really complain about unless you're just really picky. I would recommend others to live here at least for a year if anything. I would renew my lease, but I need bigger space and I'm tired of apartments...so its time for a house for me.
