Had to Hire a Lawyer to Get My Own Money Back

I lived at Piccadilly Apartments for years, and my experience did not match the “luxury” branding they’re trying to portray.
My supposedly refurbished apartment still had old, poorly functioning cabinets. My AC also went out at least five times in a single year, which was incredibly frustrating during Tennessee summers.
The property itself often did not feel luxury either. Residents regularly worked on vehicles in the parking lot, and belongings from evicted tenants were sometimes piled around ...

The worst experience happened after I moved out in February 2026. I overpaid my final rent by about $525. Management told me refunds could take up to 30 days, but months passed. After multiple attempts to get my money back, I was essentially told they did not know who to contact at the corporate office to get the overpayment returned.
I eventually had to involve an attorney through my legal plan. My attorney sent demand letters, and I did not receive my refund until July — more than four months after moving out.
I should not have had to hire a lawyer to recover money that was already owed to me.
If you are considering Piccadilly because of the “luxury” branding, tour the actual apartment you will be renting and inspect the cabinets, HVAC, parking areas, and trash areas carefully.
