AM Shower Problem
October 22, 2024The hot water doesn't work from 5:30 - 7AM. I am not sure when it starts/stops working, but it always works in the afternoon. I reached out to maintenance, who came and took a look at my shower 6 weeks (!) after the maintenance request, and their hypothesis was that too many people take showers at that time. They did not give me any indication that the issue would be resolved in the future. In a similar vein, I have lived here 6 months now. All elevators have been working ~1% of my stay ...here. I conclude that this property is either bad at maintenance or they do not fund it adequately.Property Manager Responded

not a good place if you care about noise
April 16, 2024There has been lots of noise for the past 2 months and I have talked to the leasing office SO MANY times and each time they ensure me that it will be fine, but nothing happens. I have spoken to them so many times for the past month or so about aggresive dog barks that will literally wake you up every single day and they act like they are handling the situation but in reality the issue is still going on and I lost hope in this situation. If you care about noise and want to be able to relax and ...have peace in your own place, I don't think that this is the right place.Property Manager Responded

February 5, 2024I had high hopes for this place as we had a good experience with Greystar in the past, and things were fine when we initially moved in. The staff seemed nice at first. Regrettably, after a year of living here, I've encountered major issues, including: - a water leak - unpleasant odors of cigarettes and cannabis from neighboring units - and incidents of car break-ins. The water leak is the most recent problem affecting several units. While I am writing this review, there's currently ...construction taking place in my unit literally at the moment, making it challenging for me to focus on my work (I am working from home). This problem has persisted for a month. The maintenance team and vendor unexpectedly knocked on my door during my work hours and requested entry, causing disruptions to my workflow - there were no specific times in the given notices. Additionally, the management team failed to communicate the extent of the construction.Property Manager Responded

Staff is very friendly and helpful, plus the amenities are wonderful and well maintained. September 27, 2023Overall a very nice experience here. I feel safe because not only is the lobby door secure, but the elevators are too. The kitchen is incredible—all the cabinet space I could need or want, plus a pantry and gas range. The washer and dryer in the enormous walk in closet is exactly what I was looking for, and the soaking tub has already gotten a lot of use. The apartments are quiet and I seldom hear neighbors, even in the hallway. The dog park has helped my rescue pugs to come out of their shell ...and mingle with other dogs—we really love that amenity a lot. There are nice community spaces as well, and I love having access to a grill when meal prepping for the week. My only critiques would be to make it easier and more convenient to recycle, and to have pre installed curtain rods on every window since we’re not allowed to install our own and the blinds don’t block out light or afford much privacy. The windows are huge and let in lots of light, and a tension rod simply isn’t up to the task for covering these monsters with the curtains necessary for blocking the city light at night.Property Manager Responded

The Amenities are OUT OF THIS WORLD!
August 28, 2023Portland Astoria is one of my first high-rise apartment living experiences, and I have been lucky enough to experience so much already! From the gorgeous finishes, thoughtful, bright and modern designs, and absolutely stellar views whether admiring Downtown Portland from your window or viewing the skyline and waterfront from the many resident amenities such as the 20th floor sky lounge or the 5th (I believe) floor resident courtyard, this place is an absolute dream to visit, let alone live at. I ...have no doubt that my 14 months here will be the best experience I will have treated myself to thus far. Not only have the amenities been a blast to peruse, but the management staff has really done their best to personalize the experience and add in little key pieces to make my start here mean something to me. While I haven't met or corresponded with the manager yet, I have had consistent and positive communication with Paulina and Karla, their two outstanding Leasing Professionals! I'm sure they more than deserve a pay raise for their above and beyond efforts at such a large community, and it was great hearing positive feedback unprovoked about one another during my in person interactions. They have a strong respect for one another both in work ethic and skillsets. It is so important to uplift and recognize one another! Paulina toured me initially and has helped throughout my time communicating about my move in, in addition to my consistently positive experiences with Karla assisting as well, who has helped take care of several things along the way leading up to my move in. They have worked together seamlessly to continue my positive experience all around! Little things really do matter to cultivate a positive resident experience all the way from first tour to new tenancy. Things such as the complimentary bag of coffee roast, the quick and positive-toned responses via email back from the management team, and last but not least (my personal favorite touch) was the wholesome and sweetly handwritten thank you card welcoming me to the community and congratulating me on this milestone move. Because of small efforts for experiences like these, even this early on in tenancy, I don't feel like just another tenant bringing in money to their community! As an Executive Assistant to the Vice President at a nearby apartment management firm myself, I absolutely love seeing this kind of effort from the management team. July 10, 2023Having toured countless buildings in the downtown area, the Astoria's units provide among the most functionality I've seen. Spaces are well arranged, with deeper closets and more cabinetry than you'd typically find. June 22, 2023The staff are great. They have been very friendly, prompt and responsive to the few issues I have had. The amenities are nice and the location is unbeatable. I can't really complain so far. That being said, these are apartments downtown & it can be a bit noisy between the traffic, dogs and other residents well after 10:00 PM.Property Manager Responded

It’s a nightmare living here
May 10, 2023Would give 0 stars if I could. We have been living in this apartment building since September 2021 but the past year has been a nightmare. Despite the small and claustrophobic apartments that are insanely overpriced, our heater and air conditioning didn't work properly for months, we've been robbed FOUR times inside the building (two of them in this past week), and the staff acts like they're doing us a favor by letting us live here. The management is awful, and it seems like the building is ...getting worse by the day. We've repeatedly asked for better security, but safety is not a concern to them since there has been no action to address this issue. Moreover, the garage gate remained completely open for over a month. We've been wanting to move out, but the management is charging us a penalty to terminate the lease, even though they've been negligent in addressing our concerns. We no longer feel safe in the building and feel like we can't spend one more day here. Please go live anywhere else but here!Property Manager Responded
