Ongoing Rodent Infestation, Poor Maintenance, and Disappointing Experience

My experience at The Preakness Apartments was one of the worst rental experiences I've had. I moved into my apartment expecting a clean, safe, and well-maintained home, but instead I dealt with ongoing rodent problems, maintenance issues, and repeated frustration.
Over the course of my tenancy, I found multiple mice inside my apartment. This was not an isolated incident. Despite several pest control visits, the problem continued. I personally documented mice caught in traps, rodent droppings, ...
and areas that appeared to allow rodents to enter the apartment. No resident should have to worry about mice running through their home or cleaning up droppings.
In addition to the infestation, there were several maintenance concerns throughout the apartment that I repeatedly reported. I submitted maintenance requests, provided photographs and videos, and communicated with management on numerous occasions. Although some attempts were made to address the issues, the underlying problems continued throughout my stay.
The ongoing infestation affected my daily life. I was constantly checking for rodents, worried about food contamination, and uncomfortable sleeping or relaxing in my own apartment. A home should be a place where you feel safe and comfortable, but unfortunately that was not my experience.
To management's credit, they ultimately agreed to release me from my lease without charging an early termination fee. I appreciate that decision because I truly felt I could no longer remain in the apartment under those conditions. However, I wish the issues had been resolved much earlier so moving out would not have been necessary.
I encourage anyone considering this property to thoroughly inspect the apartment before signing a lease and ask detailed questions about pest control, maintenance history, and how resident concerns are handled. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues so future residents have a much better experience than I did.
Unfortunately, based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend The Preakness Apartments. My expectation was a clean, habitable apartment, and that expectation was not met.
