ROACHES AND BAD MANAGEMENT

Our unit had been vacant for almost a month before our move-in date, and we repeatedly asked to see it beforehand. Each time, we were given excuse after excuse — usually blaming it on only having one maintenance technician. In hindsight, it seems clear they were trying to hide the fact that the unit is infested with ROACHES As soon as we walked into the apartment, we saw live German cockroaches in the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. I found a piece of painter’s tape in the bathroom. When I ...
pulled it off, it was crawling with roaches — both babies and adults. As we continued inspecting the unit, we found dead and live roaches in nearly every drawer and cabinet we opened. The unit was filthy. The tubs were dirty, the counters were grimy, and the floors clearly hadn’t been swept or mopped. It was obvious the cleaning crew had done a poor job. We went straight to the office to speak with the manager. Unfortunately, she was not apologetic at all. She claimed that pest control had been treating the unit weekly since the previous tenant moved out — basically admitting that she knew about the infestation but still allowed us to move in, hoping we wouldn’t notice. The only solutions offered were another cleaning (which did not fix the filth), being added to the pest control list for the following week, and an ozone machine — which only addresses odors, not insects. She didn’t offer any roach traps or solutions to seal the cracks and gaps where roaches were clearly hiding. It felt like they wanted to push the problem onto us rather than take responsibility. My partner and I had to spend our own money on roach traps and caulking supplies just to make the apartment somewhat livable. Even after running the ozone machine all weekend, we were still seeing live roaches. When we returned to the office to express our continued concern, a leasing agent told us the previous tenant had also reported the infestation. So, management was fully aware of the issue and chose not to disclose it.We attempted to meet with the property manager again, but were told she was in meetings all day and wouldn’t be available until next week. In the meantime, we’ve had to delay our move-in date twice because we’re afraid to bring our belongings into a roach-infested unit. We’ve told management this, and they do not seem to care. DO NOT sign a lease without walking your unit first. Check under the cabinets. If one unit is infested, it's likely others are, too.

Managment wasn’t aware that the fire department put a hole in my wall for a faulty sprinkler. Now I have roaches in the kitchen. Pest control only comes once a week. They claimed to have knocked on my door, with no phone call being made to me. Please don’t waste your time. Management doesn’t care about tenants.

PLACE you should consider residing in. The staff barley answers the phone. Several residents including myself have had their cars STOLEN off the lot. Not only was mine taken, but it was found shot up in a nearby neighborhood. Swear that only happened in movies lol...There are NO SECURITY CAMERAS so if anything happens you are out of luck. The gate is always open, and you will see homeless people wondering around occasionally, walking up stairs or on their bikes looking through the trash. ...
Silverfish infestation do not much they can do to help with that. Lastly the apartments look nice, but they are poorly put together, and as time passes you realize that. One day my bath head literally shot off and put a hole through the floor. ps. You will hear police sirens at all times of the night.. But if all that’s sound feasible, please enjoy your life at Radius on Grove?

I must say , so far it's been a very pleasant experience living here. It's mostly 20's-late 30's age group that lives in this complex. - The property overall is "clean" and a new feel to it -Security: I've never felt unsafe outside, nor has my gf. The parking lot is well lit , and the building areas are gated off. The doors have 2x deadbolts on them so it'd be really hard to bust in -Internet: It's AT&T, it's pretty affordable for what you get and the internet is very very fast (I stream Hockey ...
games and there's no lag) -Previous complaints on other reviews: Bugs- you'll run across reviews for bugs but literally i've seen 2 in the time that i've lived here. So that's pretty baseless. I requested my apartment be sprayed after the 2nd one and I got a note saying it had been completed a day and a half later. - Maintenance: Same day service. - Parking:I have a reserved spot for $25 a month, It's worth it. Rent Payment: Online All in all, I would highly recommend living here , Management is quick to respond to any inquiries and it's been a pleasant experience thus far.

I am beyond excited to have leased at Radius on Grove! We just signed our lease and will be moving in next month! :) Upon coming to look at the apartments, the lady in the office told us about some events they do and even invited us to stop by the next day to join their pool party. Since we leased that day, we decided why not and ended up going. We were able to meet some of our neighbors who were very welcoming and nice! We cannot wait to move in!!!

I moved in almost 8 months ago, and from the first day the staff has been amazing. The property has new owners/management (I think in the past 10-12 months?). People will have their own experience, good/bad, but my experience has been amazing. Broke my leg in April, and the staff (including the director) offered to walk my dog. Any time I've called they came to walk him. What property staff does that? There may be some irregularities in an apartment, but the current staff/owners are not ...

Not worth the money, the stress or the overall discomfort of what we went through.

During my lease, I had the worst bug problem I have ever experienced. Everyone that came over was shocked at the amount of bugs everywhere. The first floor is not for the faint of heart. There were countless times of me seeing spiders bigger than the size of my hand and cockroaches that were too big to fit into a cup in my room and around the apartment. Every time I would get rid of the endless PILES of bugs around my apartment, they'd be back within a few hours. We payed for pest control every ...
month and requested extermination countless times to no avail. Moving in, the carpet wasn't tacked down, there was a HOLE in the bathroom wall, parts of the wall weren't painted or were already cracked (we were the first people to live in the unit). Our water heater was leaking into the living room wall causing visible mold and water damage and maintenance's first response was to paint over it before addressing the real problem. Management wise, there is a lot of room for improvement and growth. Email communication is very slow and unreliable. Be aware that customer service for current residents is not their priority once you've signed your lease. There are countless other issues I could mention about the quality of the apartment, since it looks nice, but many corners were cut, but I digress on that. Safety is a big concern for me. The gates are only built where you can see them, but are not connected, so you could still walk along the tree line to get in with no obstacles. Even if they were connected, the gate was working properly for only 2 or 3 months out of the 13 I was there - the rest of the time they were wide open. After several scary instances and a couple calls to the police, this was a major concern - which I voiced to management. There is no live on security or even a general patrol of the grounds, which I was told would happen. There is no after hours source to call - safety concerns or otherwise. Overall, the place was cute and put a roof over my head for 13 months; but when looking at all deeper than surface level, there were many flaws. I have so many stories and have heard so many stories from my former neighbors that still send shivers down my spine. I tried to move out twice during the lease, if that tells you anything. For the price, look elsewhere. This is not advertised as a low quality place, nor does the price reflect that, but it is not held to the standards of a luxury apartment complex.

A little too money hungry
February 5, 2018
Last week, I was in NYC for work. Flew back into town on a Sunday (4th of the month), held onto my rent check because I thought the office would be closed. Hand delivered the check the next day (Monday, 5th of the month- 3rd business day). I was greeted with "did you add $100 for the late fee? Today is the 5th. You could have avoided it if you'd gave us this check yesterday." On the bright side, she did say it with a pleasant, professional tone of voice. She also handled my look of surprise ...

I agree with the other reviews I couldn’t be happier with my choice at Radius on Grove. The apartment is brand new the finishes are fantastic, and the staff is extremely nice and on top of things. Parking is plentiful and the community is quiet.
