I moved to ridge gardens apartments the end of the month and my experience has been perfect by far. The leasing agent robin was very professional, helpful and nice and it seem that everyone in the office shares these qualities as well . The neighborhood has been quiet and the neighbors are friendly. Also robin called and checked on me after I moved into my place . I love my apartment big and spacious

Don't waste your money

The maintenance staff is awesome. The office staff is terrible from the receptionist up to the property manager. The property was sold and it went down hill after. The office staff is rude! All repairs are basically a bandaid due to the new management, nothing was ever replaced.

I have had several horrible experiences and I won’t be renewing my lease. During the summer months my apartment gets VERY hot. They have checked out my A/C several times and they say the A/C can only make the apartment about 20 degrees cooler than outside…. But even at night my apartment stays in the mid-70s. I also arrived home from work one summer day to find my air conditioner completely removed and sitting on my balcony because of renovations. I was never given any notice to told they I ...
would be left completely without air conditioning.
I asked the property manager if they could do something about the lack of insulation which would probably help the apartment maintain a proper temperature, and I emailed him several times, I’ve never gotten a response to my requests.
I have had several instances where my water is shut off for “emergency repairs” which oddly enough only happen when they are renovating another apartment. I have gotten ZERO notifications that the water needs to be turned off.
You get less than 24 hours notice when they are going to be entering your apartment for non-emergency stuff, even though the lease requires at least 24 hours notice.
They love to send out emails and text messages when the office is going to be closed; but they don’t communicate with the PAYING tenets when there is an issue or there is going to be a planned repair.
Horrible communication. Horrible customer service. Had issues with mice. Have major issues with bugs.
The only thing I like about the apartment is the layout. The kitchen design is great and the layout is great. That’s the only positive thing I can say about the horrible experience.

Camel crickets/spricket infestation - DON'T MOVE HERE

This is my second year at Ridge Gardens. The first year, I was plagued by camel crickets (which can ruin clothes, fabrics, and bite you) but I figured since I am on the bottom floor, I needed to be an adult and vacuum them. There were less in the winter, mostly in the hallway (I assumed coming through the trash rooms which even though are not being used, I constantly see bugs coming out of there).
This year is an entirely different story. I can't open my patio due to normal spiders that won't ...
go away. I have given up trying to remove those, even though they are now everywhere in my apartment. The came crickets are EVERYWHERE. They come through my front door and are in my bathroom. No amount of cleaning helps. You also can't enter our apartment building past 8pm without having to dodge them, and now you can even see them crawling up the first floor as well. I've spoken to others who seem to have the same problem and have told me the exterminators don't actually exterminate.

Mice. I thought I would be safe on the third floor but no. I’ve had issues three times. Let me tell you, they do not care. I’ve dealt with two different managers and they do not care. Ridge Gardens recently changed management companies but obviously the care and concern about tenants with mice has not changed. Pest control has come by, set traps and sealed up holes and the issue will seem to be fixed but then, mice again. I recently (on a Wednesday night) filled out a maintenance request and ...
asked to speak to the property manager. He gave me a call and I explained my problem. He said that pest control comes on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the list was full so I’d have to wait. He also told me that there are traps in the leasing office and I could to come get them and put them down myself. Then he put me on a brief hold and informed me that they had no more traps and he would add me to the pest control list for the day. No one showed up. So basically if you have rodents in the apartment you pay rent for you have to live with mice or set traps and handle the situation yourself. I understand that I am not the only tenant here but I shouldn’t have this repeated problem and not be helped. Living with mice wasn’t in my rental agreement. Save your money. Go somewhere else. You will not be safe from them on the third floor. You can keep the place neat and clean but you still won’t be safe.
I do like the place, it’s a bit old but it’s nice here. I wish I could leave a better review but this is something that I can’t tolerate. I also have a dog and she shouldn’t have to live with mice either.

Check the “trash room” in basement

Be sure to look at the “trash room” and storage units in the basement before leasing. The “trash room” is open to the outside and has flies, ants and roaches. It’s disgusting this is their solution for waste. Shame!

Not a great experience so far

I have lived here for less than a year and there have been several instances where I have gotten little to no notification about work being done in my apartment. I really wanted to like living here since the layout and the kitchen upgrades are really nice; however, the lack of respect for my home is unacceptable.
What’s even worse, with ZERO notice they took out my air conditioning unit which is still sitting on my patio more than 24 hours later.
I don’t think I will be renewing my lease.
