Stay Away
February 20, 2021PSA.... ridgewood is the lowest of the lowest. They have crazy roaches y’all. It was so bad I barely wanted to cook. If I do I had to stand over my food just to make sure a roach didn’t crawl in. But they act like they don’t know that they’re there. Pest control does come in and spray but it seemed as if they were just spraying water because it did nothing to help the problem. And they get offended and catch attitudes when you tell them they’re not doing a good job. They didn’t seem to care ...either but of course not because they didn’t have to live there and deal with it. They don’t fix nothing or clean up the property. The tenants leave trash and things laying around and maintenance is just as bad. When maintenance comes to fix things they don’t really fix it they just patch it together enough to get the apartment by. The walls and floors and less than paper thin, I could hear the people next door to me as well as under me. All day long I had to listen to people arguing, and dogs barking to the top of their lungs or running back and forth. How is my apartment on top of you but it feels and sounds like I’m the one underneath. And when you call and complain to the office about people being too loud or any issues you’re having they act like they’re scared to address it. I knew I made a mistake moving in the same day I got my keys. The toilets get stopped up so often that they constantly have to turn the water off and unclog them all. When you first walk in the apartment it smells like a sewer. I had to put up so many glade wall plug fragrances just to try and get rid of the smell. When I moved out they charged me for everything including carpet cleaning which I would think should be done after a tenant moves out anyway. I would think that’s normal wear and tear. It’s like they want you to pretty much renovate it yourself to get your whole deposit back. The only good thing I can say about the place is that the rental office ladies are kind of nice but the niceness of the rental office staff isn’t enough to deal with everything else that comes with this property. Poor management AND Slow / incompetent / rude maintenance
May 1, 2018Poor management-This is the ultimate “take it with a grain of salt” remark. As a landlord myself, there is nothing worse than having someone write that you’re bad at what you do. With our company, almost every time we see this it’s because there was a miscommunication or misunderstanding of expectations. When someone says the management is bad, look to see what the actual issue was; many times it is petty and may not be that important to you. Slow / incompetent / rude maintenance-Like poor ...management, you really need to look at trends and take it with a grain of salt. If one person says maintenance was terrible, but all other reviews are positive towards maintenance, I wouldn’t worry too much. Some things that I would be concerned to see include: maintenance came in without any notice & maintenance didn’t clean up after themselves. Those two comments show a general lack of respect. Sometimes people write that it took too long for the maintenance to get fixed or they didn’t get it fixed right the first time. It’s possible a maintenance request will fall through the cracks or take longer than expected; that’s just life.
