Terrible Terrible Management
July 2, 2024The apartment itself is beautiful BUT they did not have us view the apartment before we moved in. We payed to have an updated apartment just to come to a nasty nasty washer and dryer. Not to mention a pest infestation in our home that we ARE STILL BUGGING THEM about nearly 3 months later. I regret moving here because I feel like I need to stay on them in order to get things moving.Property Manager Responded

Used to be a nice place
December 7, 2023Ive lived in Rochester Villas for about 6 years and i can say without a shadow of a doubt that the Beacon Management is just awful to say the least. I have no problems with the people working in the leasing office per se but as a company they have gotten on my last nerve. I've sent emails, phone calls and left messages and never once anyone did anything about my concern. In the span of 2 weeks i called 7 times and received not a single call or email about anything. On top of the ridiculous rent ...hike by almost 400 in the last 2 years alone. I genuinely love the apartment itself and the community but im at the point where I want to move just out of spite so i suggest that everyone else stay away.Property Manager Responded

No Longer Care About Residents...place is a dump
May 21, 2023Be prepared...new management came in a significantly have been raising rents (like 34% per year)...their reasoning was because of the expensive luxury condos being built in Troy (they figured that justifies charging more for this 49-year old dump of many people who've lived here 10-38 years...almost all of our good neighbors immediately moved. DON'T let those photos fool you!!! The vast majority of units look NOTHING like those...we all have 49 year old cabinets, counters, mirrors, appliances ...(our mini refrigerator has made noises and barely worked for ten years and they wont do anything until it dies completely--dryer lint catcher was semi-destroyed and inadequate, and they refuse to clean clogged vents from outside). One new neighbor was LIVID because he was charged an astronomical rent, and was ONLY shown the REMODELED MODEL...and he was shocked they got a 49-year old dump! We were also refused to see our apartment before we signed and took the keys (we were told it wasn't finished getting ready/painted yet...we got the keys at closing time for the weekend and discovered a smell, mold, cobwebs, walls NOT painted--and neighbors said it was vacant 5+ months...when we reported it hadn't been painted we were promised for 4 weeks that it'd be done--then told us they aren't going to paint after we moved furniture in...they did come slop a little paint on an unfinished patch job on the bathroom wall, and slopped black paint on the railing, with numerous plastic bristled embedded in paint and black paint dripped and smeared on the white wall on the stairway.) There have been times we are at mercy of neighbors who have shovels too...several of us that are handicapped were trapped for 4 days in a snowstorm that nothing was done except pile 5-feet of snow up to sidewalk, which younger residents were able to climb. Our beautiful pine trees out our door and front windows now have numerous 14-20 foot "weeds" embedded to look at and try to keep kids/handicapped from getting hurt from the sticks when using our sidewalk. OH, and don't let the POOL fool you, because when they decide to not open one year, or not open until kids start school another year, or just fail to get workers to open it...then they LAUGH in your face and tell you to check your lease, because whether they choose to give us a pool to use is NOT something they are required to provide or even make a good-faith effort.Property Manager Responded
