The best all-around complex in Delaware!!!

I’ve lived here in Phase II now going into my 3rd year come August 2026. Having lived in several complexes in Delaware, Virginia, and Maryland… I can say with confidence ROCKWOOD Apts is by far the best! From their modern appearance & layout, clean grounds, well lit roads & walkways, modern playground & sand volleyball area, large modern walk-in pool with: Bball net, volleyball net, handicap accessible (Which I’ve never seen in a pool at any complex) Ample amount of seating, tables, umbrella ...
coverage, and the pool literally has sprinkler fountains & inside pool benches with jets on your back!! That’s not to mention the awesome Club House with a rock climbing wall, fitness center, dog grooming room, Indoor basketball courts, Virtual golf simulator, full women and men’s locker rooms with showers and restrooms that are so well-maintained, a mirror Yoga room, And a beautiful man-made lake/pond. Overall, fabulous grounds!!! Also in a prime safe location. I’ve never felt safe living alone as a single woman until I moved here.
The communication, speedy response time to maintenance requests, great customer service, the friendliest and most friendly new members in the front office, beyond efficient and knowledgeable Maintenance Team EVER, and Jessie (the Property Manager) has really brought great change, attentiveness with above & beyond customer service & proven leadership! I’ll continue to refer new tenants and those already referred LOVE IT!!

I’ve been here for about 2 months and it’s been great. The complex is quiet (aside from the lawn mowers on Tuesday’s), pet friendly. 3 things I’m not happy about. 1. The closets. For a 2 bdrm 2 bath I have 1 hallway closet and it doesn’t have racks. So I have to keep my linen in vacuum bags until I figure out how/where to put them. The bed rooms have 2 closets each but 1 top rack like the hallway closet.
1a. The walls are cheap; Sheetrock. I have a cat and I know my neighbor below is tired of ...
this cat having the zoomies at 7am.
2. Community room is non existent. During the summer there’s a pool, but what are families to do during the fall/ winter months? A game room would be nice, or have a space where we can watch the games and just vibe, or possibly reserve a time to utilize the space.
3. That park needs a major overhaul. It’s like someone’s backyard set for their toddler. I’ve been taking my kids to Glasgow park down Rt 40.
There seems to be some construction going on so maybe they’re expanding.
Other than that I’m content.

The amount of bugs you will experience while living here is crazy, from ants, water bugs to bee’s. This is a common occurrence, I’ve asked multiple neighbors and we’re all having this problem. The staff making It seem like they have never heard of any of the bugs that come in or that you don’t actually see any and try to downplay It as if you just let the bugs in when you open your doors. My family has gotten stung by a bee in our own apartment and nothing was done to seal any doors or anything ...

I have lived at rockwood for about a year and I absolutely love it here.. its quiet, the grounds are kept clean, maintenance requests are taken care of in a timely manner, the communication between management and tenant is on point.. I would refer rockwood in a heart beat.

I am very picky and particular about where I live and I have had a really amazing experience here. I moved in during the pandemic in August of 2020 without being able to tour the unit. I was dealing with Rockwood apartments for weeks. We were going back and forth on the information needed. Every time I paid for another application, I was told I needed something else. Ended up paying for 3 applications and was still needed to do other things. My boyfriend was told to terminate his other lease, even though it will be up in a few months. This process was the worst process I have ever experienced. I was dealing with Monica and if she knew all of these necessary steps before, why ...
weren't they stated. I would not recommend management is unhelpful and did not want to help. I spent over $150 in applications and fees to get nowhere and felt forced to pull my application out of the process.

We have stayed in Rockwood apartments for last 10 years and we have built great memories and we will highly recommend any future tenants as the apartments are clean, no rats/bed bugs, awesome management, quick resolution of issues, awesome portal to track community updates, pay rent online etc. The best thing of all they have kids play area, swimming pool and fitness center..Cherry on the top..!

Really disappointed with Rockwood. I came into town and toured the apartments in September of this year. I knew I would be moving to the area from Utah (across the country) in December. Monica gave the tour. She asked when I was looking at moving and I told her the first week in January. She told me that she wouldn’t know the availability for January until Nov 5 and to call then. I called very close to opening on Nov 5 and asked to speak to Monica. Someone else answered and said Monica was busy ...
and asked if it was something she could help me with. I explained that I had toured in September and that I was told to call on that day for an apartment. She informed me there was no availability and there wouldn’t be until February. I asked how that was possible since I was told to call on Nov 5 and they wouldn’t know the availability until then (I called 15 mins after opening). She informed me it just happens and a lot of people had been calling wanting apartments so they went fast. I agreed and said I understood which is why I was trying to get one two months ago in September, and that I waited until they told me to, and now there isn’t any available. She said she could put me on a “waitlist (which I tried to do in September) “and that was the end of the conversation. Supposed to move for a new job and now have no place to live. Such a shame because I loved the complex when I toured.

Went there today & as expected, "no walk-in" sign. Called & left VM. Rec’d rtrn call. Was denied appt to schedule tour then directed to web for virtual tour. Advised I understood Covid concerns but they can’t expect people to commit without seeing physical unit. Response: “Well actually Covid has been a blessing to us because, we are completely occupied”. Well, that was the end of that for me.
